Water Hyacinth & Cutters The rains have become heavier and the seasonal menace of water Hyacinth is with us once more. These sea weeds flow from inland waters to the bay in which the KEGOZ Marine has a major dredging project. In less than 24hrs, the bay is filled with these weeds. No, you must not simply commence operations as you must clear the forest of water Hyacinth as much as possible. Running vessels with this much thick Hyacinth affects the pump impellers, the blades of the cutter, the engines would have to increase torque by at least 25% for the same amount of work (if there had been no obstructions). And these Hyacinth are deadly to the small crafts employed in inspecting the pipeline, hulls, larders and anchors during pumping operations. The client requires performance!
