As we approach National Forklift Safety Day on June 11th, we would like to emphasize some important points to consider: 1. Operator Training: Proper training is essential. Operators should be well-versed in safe practices, load handling, and emergency procedures. 2. Daily Equipment Checks: Regular inspections ensure that forklifts are in optimal condition. Check brakes, tyres, hydraulics, and other critical components. 3. Pedestrian Awareness: Many accidents involve bystanders or pedestrians. Stay alert, use horns, and maintain clear pathways. 4. Load Stability: Ensure that loads are balanced and secure. Improperly loaded forklifts can tip over or drop items unexpectedly. Remember, over 70% of forklift accidents are preventable. Let’s prioritize safety and make every day a forklift safety day!

Today is National Forklift Safety Day! The objective of National Forklift Safety Day is to educate individuals on the best practices regarding forklift safety, the importance of operator training and the need for daily equipment checks. Did you know: in the event of a safety event involving a powered industrial truck, refresher training must be provided per OSHA 1910.178(l)(4)(ii)? This training must be provided when: ⛔The operator has been observed to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner ⛔The operator has been involved in an accident or near-miss incident ⛔The operator has received an evaluation that reveals that the operator is not operating the truck safely ⛔The operator is assigned to drive a different type of truck o ⛔A condition in the workplace changes in a manner that could affect safe operation of the truck. These incidents can be avoided by providing effective and informative training upfront and ensuring operators stay up to date with their skills! #NationalForkliftSafetyDay #WarehouseSafety #SafetyTraining
