Art therapy and sport are two powerful vehicles by which youth peace advocates with Never Again International - Canada deal with anxiety, depression, trauma, and build self-esteem. With less than one month left at the Never Again International - Canada summer peace camp, children in fragile contexts are gaining greater self-awareness and using sport and art therapy to breakdown barriers and create a more equal, just and sustainable world. With your help today we can continue to stand up for human rights. Would you support our peace builders as they advocate for human rights and express their hopes for a brighter future for humanity? https://lnkd.in/efBVV_X

15-Year-Old Child Rights Activist | Climate Campaigner | Speaker | Model United Nations Ambassador | Passionate Advocate for Sustainable Development in Bangladesh
🌍 Peace for Our Planet, Peace for Our Children 🌍 As a child rights activist and climate campaigner, I believe that true peace is not only the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, equity, and sustainability for every child and every community on Earth. The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, but without a peaceful and livable planet, our future is uncertain. Climate change, poverty, and inequality rob children of their rights—the right to live in a safe environment, the right to education, and the right to thrive. We must act NOW. Let's protect our planet, let's uphold the rights of every child, and let's create a world where peace is built on compassion, sustainability, and inclusion. Together, we can lead toward a brighter, more peaceful future. 🌱🌿 #PeaceForChildren #ClimateActionNow #ChildRights #PeaceForThePlanet #SustainabilityForAll #GlobalUnity #YouthForChange

We usually relate peace-building efforts to areas affected by conflict and war, exclusively. But the truth is we can be peace-builder everywhere as long as structural violence (and violence in all its forms) exists. The definition of positive peace distinguishes that peace is not just the absence of war but social justice, equality, and the wellbeing of communities. As Theirworld has highlighted, early childhood is where inequality begins. Focusing on the early years can stop the structural causes of violence in our communities. It’s in our hands to advocate so that our children have the right opportunities and resources to develop their fully potential. And help create more just, egalitarian and sustainable communities. #ActForEarlyYears #EarlyYears #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #Peace #Peacebuilding

On this #WorldDayofSocialJustice2024, we find ourselves at a crossroads. On one hand, we yearn for a world with peace and free of conflict. On the other hand, disparities and injustice still plague our societies and threaten to pull us further apart. In advocating for peace, we must recognise that social justice is not just an idealistic dream but a practical path towards creating a more peaceful world. It is interconnected with pursuing fairness, equity, and harmony. Here's why: 1. Injustice Breeds Resentment: When individuals or groups are systematically denied their fundamental rights and opportunities, it leads to resentment. This resentment can grow into frustration, anger, and conflict. Social justice tackles these issues at their root, addressing discrimination, marginalisation, and unequal access to resources. By creating a system where everyone feels valued and empowered, we can remove the seeds of discontent that fuel discord. 2. Building Bridges, Not Walls: Justice goes beyond borders and identities. When we stand up for the rights of all, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or beliefs, we promote empathy and understanding. This helps to bridge the gaps that divide us and lays the foundation for lasting peace. The power of solidarity and collective action in achieving shared goals has been demonstrated by social justice movements throughout history, reminding us that true peace cannot be achieved at the expense of the marginalised. 3. Investing in Peace: Social justice is not just about dismantling injustice but also about committing to a future where peace is not just an aspiration but a tangible reality. This can be achieved through providing equal access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. It demands establishing reliable legal systems that uphold the rule of law and protect the vulnerable. It necessitates investing in conflict resolution mechanisms and promoting a culture of dialogue and understanding. 4. It empowers individuals and communities: When individuals have the tools and opportunities to thrive, they become agents of positive change. Empowered communities are more resilient and less susceptible to manipulation, exploitation and conflict. No doubt, the path to peace is complex and multifaceted, yet social justice remains one of its critical components. By striving for a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, we lay the groundwork for lasting peace, recognising that social justice is not just a moral imperative but a practical necessity for peace. #worldsocialjusticeday #socialjustice #accesstojustice #peaceandjustice #techlawyered

🌍 Peacebuilding: Taking Action Over Idle Hope In a world that often seems defined by conflict and division, the desire for peace is universal. However, simply hoping for peace isn't enough. True peacebuilding requires tangible, proactive efforts. Peace is not a passive state but a dynamic process. It's about communities coming together, understanding differences, and building bridges where there were once walls. It's about taking concrete steps to address the root causes of conflict and creating sustainable solutions. Every individual has a role to play in this journey. Whether through community initiatives, policy advocacy, or personal actions, each effort counts. Peace is built one step at a time, through dialogue, empathy, and a commitment to justice. As youth activists, let's transform our desire for peace into real-world actions. Let's engage, collaborate, and act. Together, we can create a more peaceful world, one that goes beyond dreams and becomes our reality. #Peacebuilding #ActionForPeace #Community #SustainableSolutions #Empathy #Justice #TogetherForPeace
