Be careful the rules you make. Almost got caught in my rule today. A child used to shout at others in class. I had corrected him and he had gotten better. But today, he relapsed. I had two options, relapse with him or stay up to help him up. I chose the latter, and it wasn't easy. Teaching becomes easier with clear rules. Just that the rules go both ways. It binds your pupils. And it binds you as the role model in the class. You set them up (rules), be ready to follow up. Read the rest: https://lnkd.in/dN-Ap5Hr

.... Imparting Knowledge/ Gaining Knowledge Subject Teacher Video Editor Customer service agent Virtual Assistant
As a teacher, no one understands that the job is not an easy one. When people see me and i tell them, I am a teacher, they always say, "that's an easy job", but for real it is not easy. Impacting on the lives of young kids and teenagers is not an easy task. I am the class teacher of SS3, I sometimes, my students come with one problem or the other, asking for advice. As a teacher, the knowledge I pass from the syllabus to my students, is not the only thing I impact into their lives. Inorder, to help my students in the senior classes navigate their life, I use my past experiences. A colleague, called some students and asked them, " Why do you all love Miss Michelle so much?". My student answered, " it's because she acts not only as my teacher, but as my older sister, my second mom, and a confidant". When my colleague told me about this conversation, I smiled. Our job as educators is never an easy. #iamaproudeducator #teacher

Head Of School at St. Michael's Prep (formerly St. Gabriel's Catholic School and St. Michael's Catholic Academy)
This trend worries me as a school leader. We are all feeling the teacher shortage. As a society we need to figure out ways to attract and retain excellent educators, and I think it begins with respecting the profession differently than we have been. It’s more than jeans on Fridays and treats in the teachers’ lounge. It’s school and district leaders holding true to a culture of respect for teaching professionals by acting with integrity and courage even in the face of challenge.

I completely agree with this concept, without mistakes analysis there is no learning or continuous improvement.
Mistakes can be powerful teachers! It involves reflecting on what went wrong, understanding why it happened, and figuring out how to avoid similar pitfalls in the future.

I train school campuses and districts on quality classroom management techniques to increase instructional time and teacher morale. I help relocation specialists find quality housing for clients quickly and easily.
The number one way to get your students to rebel against school staff….. It is important to be firm with students, not wavering on rules or procedures. It is important to be consistent with students, not changing the way adults act or speak to them. But… It is imperative to be FAIR. What does that mean? If you didn’t explicitly teach it and model it, when you see it done improperly, you can’t give a consequence, because it is the adults fault. You must teach them how to do it! Stop yelling. Stop shaming. Stop assuming. START teaching. If we are firm but unfair: They will rebel. If we are soft and fair: They will take advantage. If we are firm but fair: They will grow!! How do you show firm but fair in your school?

Interesting findings from the ECF review, many of which align with the findings of my Masters’ research… “The Need to Enhance Mentor Support: Mentor relationships are invaluable but constrained by limited capacity. Enhancing subject-specific mentoring content, building specialist mentor expertise, establishing cross-school mentor networks, and adopting structured programmes could all contribute. Funding protected time along with career progression incentives would help unlock mentoring’s full potential.” Effective mentoring is imperative at the beginning of any Early Career Teacher’s career and there is definitely more that can be done to strengthen the mentoring in schools. In turn, this will retain more teachers, who have invested so much into the profession.
"We can’t rely on recruitment alone to fix the shortage of teachers & must pull out the stops to retain those in the classroom" Our review identifies 5 key themes & makes recommendations for future-proofing the ECF and the teaching profession itself. 👉

Putting your students' emotional needs first is important because without feeling safe and understood, no instructional strategy will be effective.

"variety of teachers is harmful" i came across this phrase in a book and started wondering if this approach exists in adult education for mastering something in-depth, it’s better to have a professional who works closely with you. but for general topics like management, discipline, public speaking, and similar areas, maybe it is good idea to have one teacher for a year? 2 years? trying this out at the beginning could be an interesting experiment it would be worth looking into whether such cases exist and how they affect adult life by the way, this is how it works in primary school when we have only one teacher. so why does it work at a young age but not in adulthood?
