Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a significant day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the enduring struggle for freedom and equality. This day is not just a historical milestone but a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey towards justice for all. Juneteenth, now recognized as a federal holiday, commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War had ended and enslaved people were now free—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day symbolizes the triumph of the human spirit over oppression and the relentless pursuit of liberty for all races. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. poignantly stated, other races "Have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny." These words underscore the interconnectedness of our freedoms and the shared responsibility to ensure that equality is not just an ideal but a reality for all. Let us honor Juneteenth by acknowledging the spirit of unity and the promise of freedom for every individual. ✊🏽🎉 #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #EndOfSlavery #EqualityForAll #HumanRights #JusticeForAll #Unity #CivilRights #FederalHoliday #EmbraceFreedom

Entrepreneur: helping team leaders build a thriving culture (aligned, connected, engaged) producing top notch joy filled work.
Honor eats control for breakfast But what is it? Two powerful people working to meet one another’s needs and the needs of the situation. - A great definition of honor by Danny Silk 3 elements of honor - Honor acknowledges that people are powerful. People are powerful because they can’t be controlled beyond the control they give to others. If people can’t be controlled then encouragement and empowerment are more proper than fear and coercion. - Honor values a person’s gifts even when they are different than you own. Most people only value what they see of themselves in others. True honor looks for the differences in others and appreciates them. - Honor calls others into their potential Honor sees what people can become and treats them in view of their full potential not where they currently are. Acknowledge you are a powerful person by honoring others rather than controlling them. Call out anyone on LinkedIn who you believe honors well!

As Memorial Day approaches, let us pause to reflect on the profound significance of this solemn holiday. As we gather with loved ones, let us remember and honor the valor of those who have served our nation, sacrificing their lives in the name of freedom and justice. Originating as Decoration Day after the Civil War, this day holds deep historical roots. It was born amidst a nation torn apart by conflict and loss, yet a tradition of remembrance and reverence emerged from that turmoil. Many may not know that the first organized commemoration of fallen American soldiers occurred on May 1, 1865, in Charleston, SC. Organized by resilient Black Americans, this act of homage amidst their struggle for justice and equality exemplifies the courage and honor woven into the tapestry of Black history. As we observe Memorial Day, let us honor the past, celebrate the present, and commit to shaping a brighter future. Let us draw strength from the lessons of history and embrace the spirit of unity and resilience that defines us as a nation. May we strive to build a tomorrow that upholds the values for which so many have bravely fought and sacrificed. Faron Littleton Jada Simpson Wilson Crum Robert F.
