Here's how to do it right: Check for take-back programs! Many pharmacies and communities offer drop-off locations for unwanted medications. It's the most secure option. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is a great resource (usually twice a year). Search for details online. If no take-back options exist: Remove the vitamins from their containers. Mix them with something unappetizing. Used coffee grounds or cat litter work well. Place the mixture in a sealed container and toss it in the trash. Recycle the empty bottles (if possible).
