New England Donor Services’ Post

June 2024 was a record-setting month for organ donation in New England with 64 selfless donors and their families making the decision to save the lives of patients in need of transplant. It was just last May 2023 when the previous highest number of 61 organ donors in a single month was achieved. Our dedicated NEDS staff of nearly 350 donation professionals were onsite at hospitals across New England, to support these donor families and to coordinate the complex process of making donation and transplant happen. We thank the donors and donor families of this past month and every month for making our mission to save and heal lives through donation and transplant a reality. #DonateLife

I'm certain that the family and friends of those 64 altruistic organ donor aren't celebrating with you the contribution of their loved one's organs to your record setting month and your marketing campaign. I'm sure they are celebrating the recipients and their loved one's generosity though.

A moment of silence for those whose lives were lost, and a huge thank you to them as well. The staff at NEDS is a very special group of people working hard around the clock to support families and coordinate. I’d also like to recognize the labs and their staff for their involvement in the process.
