With advanced degrees providing qualifications in Regulatory Affairs, what would you prioritise as a hiring manager? Does hands-on experience, such as starting as a Lab Technician and advancing into Regulatory Affairs, offer more credibility than a Ph.D.? We recognize that both paths have valuable contributions, each offering distinct advantages, as Regulatory Affairs rarely follows a uniform route to success. Could the combination of academic knowledge, practical experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement be the most effective strategy for driving success in this field?

It's been great partnering with Vizgen and Third Harmonic Bio on a Fractional / Contract basis to help recruit for a number of positions in CMC, Engineering, Field Applications, Logistics and Project Management. With the uncertainty in the employment market, hiring Fractional / Contract staff can be a very productive option as is allows companies to have greater Flexibility to scale up/down as needed and it can be more Cost-Effective than hiring full-time staff. #TalentAcquisition #Contract #Biotech

So I'm probably going to touch a nerve with this post, but I think someone needs to say it. In the cannabis industry, the position of Lab Director is one of the most misunderstood and "abused" positions at compliance facilities. I can't tell you how many business owners start a lab then look to hire a Director, but then require that person to: -setup the laboratory from scratch -Write Company ISO17025:2017 program -Hire proper personnel -Run HR -Develop pricing strategies -Validate all the testing -Develop new methods and services -Run day to day operations -Direct Sales positions -Liaison with regulatory bodies -Run QA/QC of daily operations as well as audits ISO17025:2017 and state regulatory audits -"Fill in" on the bench when needed - Review data - Release COAs - Write SOPs - Write Policies - and anything else that comes to mind by the owning partners all for as low as possible and usually less than $90k, poor benefits, and no equity. This is not the description of a Lab Director. This a description of a CSO or COO and an equity partner. People wonder why established scientists don't want to get into the cannabis industry, well, this is why. You're asking someone with an advanced degree and experience in biotech/pharma to do a Chief Science Officer or Chief Operating Officer job for the salary of a biotech/pharma Lab Manager (low-balled at $50k-$70K) and leave them holding the bag when things "go wrong". What do you expect to happen? You don't pull the best and brightest from established industries without matching job duties and salaries. And honestly, if you want that person to build your business for them, wouldn't it be smart to tie them to the business with equity so they have a stake in the businesses success? Alright rant complete and I'm getting off of my soap box.

Celebrity Chemist | I help brands and service-based businesses take their product idea from Concept to Cash!
How do you choose the right formulation chemist for your project? I’ll give you 7 pillars: 1 - Expertise and specialization: Vet their track record and inquire about their experience in your industry or product category. 2 - Regulatory compliance: Ensure that the formulation chemist has a solid understanding of the regulatory requirements relevant to your product. 3 - Transparency and communication: Look for a formulation chemist who values transparency and maintains open contact lines. 4 - Portfolio and case studies: Review the chemist's portfolio and case studies to gauge the breadth and depth of their capabilities. 5 - Scalibility and flexibility: Can they handle projects of varying sizes, and are they adaptable to changes in project scope? 6 - Innovation and technology integration: Inquire about the formulation chemist's approach to innovation and whether they integrate cutting-edge technologies into their processes. 7 - Client references: Request client references or testimonials to gain insights into the experiences of previous clients. A reputable formulation chemist will gladly provide references. Hope this helps! P.S.: I turn people’s product concepts into cash 💰 DM me to create something of unparalleled value! #cosmeticchemist #productdevelopment #cleanbeauty #cosmetics #buildabrand

How do you ensure you hire for character, competence, and commitment? The answer is your hiring process, specifically, the questions you ask. Ask questions that allow the person you're interviewing to showcase how they would react in certain situations (character), how they handle specific processes or tasks (competence), and how they respond to difficult or challenging circumstances (commitment). #biotechcareers #hiringprocess #pharmajobs #biotech #biotechnology
