“The New European Bauhaus is an initiative that has put architecture, urbanism, design, and culture at the centre of the EU’s policies for the first time. […] Undoubtedly, the next legislature will be the one to implement the solutions coming from the NEB for the urban fabric, to think about what cities we want for the future.” Marcos Ros Sempere, MEP for the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, shares with us his vision for the NEB’s lasting impact on positively shaping future 🇪🇺 policies and urban development. 8moMarcos Ros Sempere We fully agree and it is exactly what we are doing with Eco² Schools as New European Bauhaus Labs . 5 pilot sites in different climate-cultural crossborder regions are committed : - not sole to make a forward looking demonstration of how to start a Climate renovation green Action plan in each school (campus, museum, educational third place...) by involving a local community in learning-action at 3 generations; - but with their territory, neighbourhoods/villages, initiate local living labs that will quickly involve +150 follower schools, host cities and supportive entities. We are willing to test this in Reims (linking remarkable projects in crossborder region North-East FR-Benelux-DE-CH), possibly also in Lisbon (PT-SP-South West FR). If you are interested by this first ever open cooperative decentralized NEB-LAB initiative, it would be a pleasure for us to organize a presentation (to you and possibly other persons from the European Parliament). We have less than 4-5 years to invert the curve of CO2 emissions and we need a decentralized support to achieve our goal. Climate Education and local community driven learning-action are core policy drivers for common success. #BeautifulSustainableTogether
