Read the KCTV5 report to learn why we need to expand the Platte County detention center and why we must have a responsible financial plan. I firmly believe that supporting law enforcement means supporting them top to bottom. That includes providing a big enough jail to keep the criminals they catch. If the jail has a revolving door because it is too full, cops stop working so hard to arrest criminals. It doesn’t take long for the criminals to see the revolving door. Eventually, even victims lose hope that anything will happen and they stop calling the police. The result: criminals win and everybody else suffers.
