Nursing has come a long way over the years, evolving into a respected and very essential profession within the healthcare system. Today, we celebrate the incredible journey of nurses and the significant strides made over the years. In the past, nurses were often seen as mere assistants, with limited scope for decision-making and autonomy. However, through dedication, education, and advocacy, the role of nurses has transformed dramatically. These days nurses are highly educated professionals whose opinions and expertise are not only valued but are an integral part in patient care and healthcare decision-making. Nurses now have the autonomy to make critical decisions, lead healthcare teams, and drive innovation in patient care practices. This transformation has been fueled by massive advancements in nursing education, increased recognition of the importance of nursing in patient outcomes, and a collective push towards empowering nurses. The respect and autonomy that nurses get to have today is a true testament to their excellence in health care and the important role they have in the healthcare system. As I reflect on these changes, it’s important to continue to support and advocate for the nursing profession, ensuring that nurses have the resources, respect, and opportunities they deserve. To all the incredible nurses out there, thank you for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference. #Nursing #Healthcare #NurseLeadership #RespectForNurses #NursingAutonomy #HealthcareInnovation

Happy National Nurses Week to all nurses for the bravery and commitment they put into their work every day. We thank you for the daily sacrifices, hard work, and dedication you put into taking care of your patients. To celebrate, we have asked a few nurses what being a nurse means to them. Here's what Brittany Adamson, RN, BSN said: "To me, being a nurse means being a voice that isn't always heard. It's about helping people advocate for their best life, teaching them to be empowered and confident in their own journey. Being a nurse encompasses more than just treating symptoms and applying band-aids; it's about assisting patients to become the best version of themselves in every possible way. Being a nurse means ensuring that no one is alone in their journey." We would like to wish a Happy National Nurses Week to all. Please take the time to thank a nurse and tell them how much they are appreciated. Tag your favorite nurse below.👇 . . . The nursing terminology of the week streaming @ https://lnkd.in/g7cmfPhx “Nurse -To -Patient Ratios” the number of patients a nurse can safely care for at a given time for better outcome. Do you know California was the first state to mandate Nurse- Patient -Ratio in 1999? Many states have continued to push against its implementation especially those states greatly impacted with nursing shortage. Hospital efficiency, nursing workload, and patient outcomes are significantly impacted by nurse-patient ratio according to some studies. Despite the implementation of the nurse-patient ratio, nurses still find it difficult to provide safe care. Increase demand for healthcare, sicker patients, new technology, and regulatory policies are further threatening nurse-patient -ratio and the way health care is delivered. How is it that even after 25 years of the first mandate, and many studies, it is still increase difficulty to find a balance.? What else could be done?. There’s Nothing Wrong With Being a Bedside Nurse In my journey as a nurse, I’ve received countless messages asking, “How do I leave bedside nursing?” Especially here on LinkedIn. While it’s wonderful to explore new avenues and opportunities in healthcare, I want to take a moment to celebrate the vital role of bedside nurses. Being a bedside nurse means being the heart and soul of patient care. It’s about making a difference in someone’s life during their most vulnerable moments. Your compassion, skill, and dedication are what patients remember long after they’ve left the hospital. Every role in healthcare is important, but bedside nursing holds a unique and irreplaceable value. It’s where the human touch meets medical expertise. It’s where you see the immediate impact of your care, and it’s where countless lives are saved and comforted every day. So, if you’re a bedside nurse, stand tall and proud. You are the backbone of healthcare. Embrace your role, knowing that you are making an incredible difference. For those looking to transition, remember that it’s not about escaping bedside nursing, but about exploring new paths while appreciating the foundation that bedside care has given you. Your skills and experiences are invaluable, no matter where your career takes you. Let’s celebrate all nurses, especially those at the bedside, who continue to inspire and heal with every shift. #Nursing #Healthcare #NurseCollins #BedsideNursing #PatientCare #ProudToBeANurse
