With tears in their eyes, they received their medals. They were the youngest team in the tournament, and no one gave them a chance to win. Hell, before this weekend, they hadn't won a game in months. However, they played incredibly and finished in second place. Interestingly, I have never seen a tear this year, even after all the losses. But the tears flowed this weekend after their best showing of the year. Why? Because this weekend, their expectations changed. Instead of expecting to lose every game, this team got an early win and convinced themselves that they could win the whole thing. When they came up short, their expectations were crushed, and emotion followed. We perform up to the level of expectation we have in ourselves. That's why it's so important to do the work to raise your own expectations of yourself. No one will pay you more than you think you are worth. A win can change everything. My question....
