Last Thursday, EmpowHER, the Saints and Pelicans Women's Colleague Network Group (CNG), hosted an incredible Sip & Paint event, open to all women employees and allies. 🎨🍷 A huge thank you to Barefoot Wine, a Proud Partner of the New Orleans Saints, for sponsoring this event. We were honored to have Barefoot's Head Winemaker, Jennifer Wall, lead an insightful wine tasting and presentation, sharing the rich history and diverse offerings of Barefoot Wine. This was followed by a fun painting session where each attendee got to paint their own canvas to take home or display at the office. The evening was filled with great conversations, delicious snacks, and creative expressions, making it a memorable experience for all who joined. Plus, everyone went home with branded gift bags and a signed bottle of Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry courtesy of Barefoot Wine! 🥂✨ We are grateful to Barefoot Wine for their generous support and ongoing partnership with the Saints. Together, we are building a more inclusive and vibrant community. Cheers! #WomenEmpowerment #SipAndPaint #NewOrleansSaints #BarefootWine #WorkplaceWellness

Best Practices in Braille Labeling: Follow the leader - wine labels with Braille by Maison M. CHAPOUTIER Since 1996, all Maison M. CHAPOUTIER labels feature wine information written in Braille. This is a tribute to Maurice Monier de la Sizeranne, the inventor of the first abridged version of Braille and founder of the Valentin Haüy Association. His pioneering work helped bring the blind and visually impaired out of isolation. One of their wines even carries his name, sourced from a plot that belonged to his family. This is a meaningful way of giving back to someone who made a significant contribution. Source: https://lnkd.in/dVAhuH_W Want to be among good practices leaders? RESEARCH IN THE SPOTLIGHT: GIBS Research Associate Adele Berndt is co-author of this research in unveiling the familial essence of South African wineries online - this research dives into 113 wineries' websites, exploring how they convey their family identity in the digital realm. Using Gioia's methodology, the study uncovers a rich tapestry of elements—corporate identity, personality, and expression—that depict 'familiness.' These wineries intricately weave their family heritage, purpose, and values into their online presence, showcasing a dynamic blend of verbal and visual cues. Sustainability emerges as a key promise closely tied to their family-oriented ethos. The study proposes a pioneering family business brand identity framework, emphasizing the integral role of 'familiness' in communicating authenticity. WINEWITHPOLLY Original & Creative Wine Events & Education. Corporate, Private, & On Trade. WSET Certified Educator. Head of UK Sommelier Association South. Events & Marketing @ Winding Wood Vineyard. Wine Judge.
Words that JancisRobinson.com dislikes... and I have to agree... Witnessing the wisdom of Jancis at Women In Wine LDN at Vintners Hall on Tuesday night was a beautifully grounding experience. She maintains her position as a 'parasite' on the wine industry, having never directly worked in it, but as such reaps the benefit of a wider lens with which to view it. A bug-bear she raised was the use of overly flamboyant language used in tasting notes and wine lexicon (did you know the brain can only register about 4 flavours at a time?) Show-offy lists of flavours that serve mostly as an English language exercise, not a helpful piece on wine. She uses her knowledge to make wine more understandable, not less. Encourages us in the trade to 'assertive, not strident' in our views and communication, and most importantly, to be kind. What a gal. Her top picks, all too frequently seen in wine reviews or tasting notes, are these the most poncy words in wine today..? - CURATED - I'm sorry, do you work in a museum? - PASSION - possibly one of the most overused words of the decade, in every discipline. So easy to roll out with no qualification. In the words of someone wiser than me, true 'passion' is ORIGIN, MISSION, & VISION aligned and delivered. - SALINE - an upcoming replacement for the perennially difficult 'mineral'? - LIMITED EDITION - like every other wine is unlimited? - 'GENTLY' PRESSED - puhleease.. As wine correspondent for the FT for over 30 years, she is certainly a woman who can take the long view when it comes to how we communicate about wine. I hope she keeps her sensible, informed, no-nonsense style as long as they are lucky enough to have her. In her own words, 'When they ask me to move, I'll move'. No one is gonna be asking you to move, Jancis. #livinglegend #jancisrobinson #vintnershall #womeninwine #womeninwineLDN #languagebarrier

The secret wine collection. 🍷 When we were doing research for adeus, one lady told us of her 'secret wine collection'. Something she had accumulated over the years, but no one else knew about. It was her little secret. Something special, just for her to enjoy... the collecting, not necessarily the drinking. But if something happened to her, she wants her family to know about it so they can share her passion, and to ensure it doesn't sit there in a storage for time immemorial when their owner has moved on to the great vineyard in the sky! Our collections and heirlooms may not be as extensive, but it's important to protect them. They are our legacy and can remind our loved ones about the things that were important to us. That's why we created the adeus digital vault. adeus digital vault helps you keep track of everything that is important to you, in a simple, secure place that only you have access to. If something does happen to you, adeus provides access to the people you nominate, at the right time, with the right sentiment. It's a simple and convenient way of protecting your legacy, and supporting your loved ones, even when you are not here to do it yourself. Find our more at adeus.life or follow me to hear more about the creative ways people use adeus. #digitalwills #digitalvault #legacyplanning #wills

Navigating The Fustercluck #28 Compliment People Behind Their Back The company grapevine doesn’t need to yield sour grapes. Use it to spread the news, especially when it’s good news. And particularly, when it's about someone else. It lets your team know that that individual is doing well. And when it gets back to that person, it will most definitely be appreciated. And they'll be motivated to create a virtuous circle that spread even more good news. #RemixtheWorld #compliments #teamwork #behindtheirback #cheerleading #remixtheworld

Warehousing industry is revolutionized, largely driven by advances in robotics and automation technologies
This year marks a milestone for Henri Willig - our Golden 50th Anniversary! 🎉 Half a century ago, Henri and his wife Riet set out on an extraordinary journey, one that began with a simple yet profound love for the art of cheesemaking. Their shared dream and clear vision have been the foundation of what has now become a wold-renowned name in Dutch cheesemaking. As we count down to our official anniversary, we're reminded of the passion that has been the cornerstone of every cheese crafted. Henri and Riet's devotion to each other is mirrored in the care and attention to detail that goes into our products. 💛 From modest beginnings to global acclaim, Henri Willig's cheeses are more than just food; they are a symbol of love for people, animals and nature. Our journey from a small-scale operation to the prominent Henri Willig brand of today is a story of commitment, quality, and the true spirit of artisanal craftsmanship. #HenriWillig50years #HenriWilligCheeseFamily #GoudaCheese

Today is Beer Can Appreciation Day, and while we’ve got a lot to say about the Geist Crowlers you all know and love, we feel like taking this opportunity to talk about a different project that we put all our heart into. The limited-release Geist Stratosphere Lager was brewed at Geist Brewing Co. for the occasion of International Women's Day in March 2022, by a group of six Indian women brewers: ‘Ladies Who Lager’. Our own Sanjana Bhatt translated this spirit of sisterhood onto the label design, describing the artwork as “a tribute to female solidarity and the collective pursuit of shattering glass ceilings. For those of us who are told that we have to bring others down in pursuit of what we want, a reminder to stick together, and that our dreams are within reach. A rising tide lifts all boats, and all that :)” At the end of the day, while our beer labels act as canvas for works of art, our learning is that they are a vehicle for articulating our personality and perspective. To us, labels are meant to be more than beautiful things to be admired – it is our way of saying “listen to our story, create a connection with us”. Geist Stratosphere Lager was a limited-release craft beer, only available while stocks lasted. Even though it didn’t make its way to retail shelves, it’s a reminder that although not every project pans out the way we want it to, there are still lessons we can draw from them that shape our future. And that’s always a win in our books. Did you get to try the Geist Stratosphere Lager and collect this limited-edition beer label? #drinkgeist #geistbrewingco #BeerCanAppreciationDay #beer #craftbeer #brewedinbangalore #beerlabel #labeldesign #packagingdesign #appreciationpost
