🌏 No Two Days Are the Same 🌏 Since I, Patrick Sweeney, joined New Power Partners in July 2023, I have served as the Ports & Logistics Manager for the Muir Mhòr project. I am responsible for all ports used during the construction phase of the project, as well as the logistics, which involves the offshore transportation and installation of all infrastructure. 🎯 Spotlight: Muir Mhòr Offshore Wind Project in Scotland. Muir Mhòr is a pioneering 1GW floating wind farm located 65 km off the east coast of Scotland. It will be one of the world’s first commercial scale floating offshore wind farms. ⚡ Key Challenges One of my key challenges is managing the logistics of assembling and installing numerous components within a tight schedule and budget. Adding to the complexity is the immense size of the foundations and turbines, as well as the harsh environment of the North Sea, which makes it both challenging and exciting.   ⚖ Balancing Hybrid Work I’ve embraced hybrid working, splitting my time between our Glasgow office and my home office in Aberdeen. This flexibility allows me to engage in essential face-to-face conversations while maintaining a healthy work/life balance. My typical day includes project meetings, supply chain engagement, and exploring innovative solutions to enhance project delivery.   🌊 Why New Power Partners? We are once again proud and amazed to celebrate the graduation of two exceptional colleagues who have completed their two-year journey with us, and with whom we are fortunate to continue our collaboration 🚀 Kasper and Tanim joined our Offshore Wind business unit as graduates in October 2022. Reflecting on his experience, Kasper says; "This graduate journey has been a true learning experience. With the strength of the team behind me, I’ve been encouraged to ‘learn by doing.’ I’ve faced new challenges head-on, and each time, I’ve come out stronger." 🌟 Tanim also shares his reflections: "I’ve experienced a steep learning curve over the past two years, which is why I’ve chosen to stay with NPP and continue taking on new challenges. People who know me understand that I thrive on challenges, so it’s safe to say, I feel right at home here."🌟 Their manager, Andrew, describes how undeniable it has been to experience the energy and boundless enthusiasm that Kasper and Tanim bring to the graduate team, the broader team, and New Power Partners as a whole. Andrew adds; “They’ve both worked on short- and long-term projects with equal passion, and the standard of their work is excellent.” 💪 Kasper and Tanim’s story is a perfect example of the remarkable growth our graduates achieve.
