What a great team to work with! I am excited to chair the retina scientific advisory board for Oculis! Timing couldn’t be better as the Phase 3 DIAMOND 1 and 2 trials have already started recruiting. I am looking forward to working with my amazing colleagues and fellow retina specialists Ramin Tadayoni, Anat Loewenstein, Peter Kaiser, Quan Dong Nguyen, David Boyer, MD as well as Oculis leadership - Riad SHERIF and Bastian Dehmel, MD to help with the development of OCS-01, the first potential topical treatment for our patients with DME. An eye drop is a simple concept but it’s not easy to develop a drop that can get to the retina and control disease. The stage 1 data from the Phase 3 DIAMOND study is promising and it confirmed the biological activity of OCS-01 with statistically significant improvements in vision and CST compared to placebo drop. I am looking forward to continue to recruit for the Stage 2 portion of the DIAMOND phase 3 trials! #clinicaltrials #SAB #Chair #OCS01 #DME

Today is the day! Join us for our free webinar on changing the status quo for the treatment of acute PE with a bloodless thrombectomy! 📌 May 14, 2024, 17:00-18:30 CEST 📄 Programme: https://t.ly/JNxlz ✔️ Join the webinar: https://t.ly/HKGNR Today's CIRSE webinar, conducted in collaboration with Inari Medical, aims to highlight the importance of implementing patient pathways using PE decision trees, which play a significant role in reducing the mortality rate associated with this potentially life-threatening condition. The IR community plays a crucial role in the decision-making for patient selection and this webinar will equip interventional radiologists with techniques for treating acute PE with bloodless thrombectomy. Moderators: Anna Maria Ierardi, Miltiadis (Miltos) Krokidis Faculty: Miltiadis (Miltos) Krokidis, Anna Maria Ierardi, Maximilian De Bucourt, Rashid Akhtar, Michael Kostrzewa, Nikolaos Ptohis #interventionalradiology #IRad #thrombectomy

Kinamed is pleased to share a new Video Journal of Sports Medicine (VJSM®) publication (linked below) presented by Seth L. Sherman, MD, Anna Bartsch, MD and Ran Atzmon, MD, from Stanford University. The authors provide a case report and video surgical technique illustrating use of the MD3TTM Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy (TTO) system for patellar realignment. https://lnkd.in/ghQTNprR Developed in conjunction with Alan Merchant, MD, the MD3T TTO system provides a simple means for making accurate TTO transfers independently in each plane of correction. The size of the cortical defect as well as soft tissue dissection is also reduced as compared to other approaches, allowing for the possibility of increased construct strength, reduced pain and accelerated rehab. For more information on MD3T, please visit us at the webpage below. https://lnkd.in/gWCCK6Th #Kinamed #TTO #MD3T

The Emerge LAA study https://lnkd.in/dsajQqa3 demonstrates strong safety and efficacy for 5,499 patients undergoing LAAO closure with Amulet in the “real world.” The study showed 96% implant success, 97.3% clinical closure (PDL ≤3mm) at 45 days and greater than 90% of patients discharged off OAC. Emerge LAA was presented at AF Symposium and reinforces the strong efficacy and safety performance observed with the Amulet occluder in several studies and publications including the Amulet IDE Pivotal study, the largest LAAO randomized trial ever completed. The study also highlighted a strong safety profile at 45 days with .3% stroke and 1.9% PE requiring intervention. 28% (1542/5499) of cases were early in the operator’s Amulet learning curve (<10 cases performed) and the safety profile continued to improve with experience. Results from this study emphasize the benefits of a dual seal mechanism that both closes the appendage and seals at the ostium for reducing the risk of stroke in non-valvular AF patients - from the simplest of anatomies to the most complex. ⚡️We are pleased to share a new publication: Hemodynamical Evaluation of a New Surgically Implanted Pulsatile Right Ventricular Assist Device Driven by a Conventional Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Console by Dr. Sara Knigge, Dr. Günes Dogan et all. ASAIO Journal 2024. 🔸 New Pulsatile Ventricular Assist Platform, pVAP 🔸 This platform builds on the proven IVAC 2L technology 🔸 Driven by standard IABP console 🔸 Compatible with all available standard cannulas The main findings indicate that the pVAP is feasible and effective. ✅ the output flow of the pVAP is directly influenced by the pressure in the output chamber; ✅ the pVAP produces an output of 2.7 L/min; ✅ the pVAP has a minor, but observable, hemodynamic effect in healthy individuals; ✅ in cases of acute RVF, activating the pVAP significantly improves hemodynamics in both the pulmonary and aortic circulations. 🚩Conclusion: This initial experience with the pVAP prototype demonstrates its feasibility as a VAD and effectiveness in restoring hemodynamics in porcine models of acute RVF. 👉 Full publication: https://lnkd.in/ecgtY4Qk Special thanks to Prof. Dr. J. D. Schmitto, MD, PhD, MBA, FRCS(Glasg) FACS, Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Medizinische Hochschule Hannover and team. Oren Malchin Would you like to know more?
