Wanted to share something I have been working on recently at AFC Stoneham. With the use of our PlayerData GPS system gathering data over the current season, I have begun to track Acute : Chronic Workload Ratio. We are now able to use this data to guide our decisions as a team and monitor player loading. 📊 Below is the dashboard I have created, that allows us to look at the group as a whole, but also individuals over a chronic period of 28 days. 💬 Would love to hear your views on tracking ACWR and how you use it to guide your training? 💬 Also whether metrics like this are actually beneficial to non-league teams operating a part time structure? #football #sportscience #strengthandconditioning #loadmanagement #nonleague

With courts going into clubs, backyards, homeowners’ associations, and tournament complexes, there can be no doubt that we’re in the midst of a pickleball boom. The only obstruction to all this growth is the number of courts available to all those players. According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association and Pickleheads (SFIA’s industry partner in research), there is a definite shortage of courts. 🏐Netball is one of the most popular team sports in Australia, with participants of all ages and skill levels taking part. Statistics from the Australian Sports Commission’s 2006 survey showed an estimated 593,900 Australians aged 15 years and older played netball in the previous 12-month period. How many injuries? 🤕 From 2002-2003, 1,129 people were admitted to hospitals across Australia for netball-related injuries. The rate of injury for netballers is 14 injuries per 1,000 hours played. The causes and types of injuries. Common causes of injuries are awkward landings, slips/falls, player contact/collision, overexertion, overuse and being hit by the ball. Ankle, wrist, hand, finger and knee injuries occur frequently. The most common types of injuries are sprains, bruising, fractures and dislocations. . . .
