I talk about building repeatable sales processes. Helped 60+ companies, $100M+ in sales, $280M+ in capital raised. A seasoned advisor in B2B sales
If you have a sales process that’s working, you should be hiring. But sometimes founders get scared because “what if things stop working?” If that happens, you’ll work to fix what’s broken. Worst case, you’ll have to fire the new rep.

Who do people work for...? PEOPLE! 🙋♂️ At Juvo, we consistently put an emphasis on the 'human' approach in the hiring space. 👎As a hiring manager/business owner, you can't expect to throw out a job description into the wild and expect the talent to come crawling. ✨Add a touch of your personality, showcase the workplace environment, and BE HUMAN. 👀See what our CEO, Mark Emery, has to say about putting the humanity back into hiring.

Dependability. That's the best one. If you're dependable.... you've got 90% of people beat. It's a short list. Be on that list. Don't be a flake. Don't be a drifter. Don't be a rescheduler. Sh*t happens.... and that's fine. But if sh*t is always happening.... that's a problem and you're off the list. Dependability....the 1st cousin of Accountability . Hard truth about getting an AE job: If most of your stints are 18 months or less, it is going to be tough to get a great AE role. I really look for AEs who have spent 3+ years with at least one company (ideally multiple). Why? Because that is usually when you are making a lot of money as an AE. The first year you are learning the ropes, building your territory, getting those great customer referrals, etc. Year 2 and year 3- that is when you should be crushing it and the dollars start rolling in. There are always exceptions. I've certainly had a couple of misses where I joined a company and quickly discovered it wasn't a fit. Whoops. But for the most part, hiring managers want to see AEs with decent length stints. If you just finished your first year at an AE job and didn't hit the numbers you wanted, it can be tempting to look elsewhere. But you are probably better off digging in and making your second year a success...

Goodlawyer is so damn lucky 🍀 Or maybe just well supported? We’ve added three new team members this year. Huge thanks to Gideon, Jared, and Jason for adding your expertise, panache, and passion to our sales function! You could have worked anywhere, but you chose Goodlawyer. We are lucky to have you. I really mean that. But this post is about all the OTHER applicants 🌟 I was overwhelmed by the amount of interest we got. The application process at Goodlawyer isn’t easy. There’s a screening process, then a skill interview, then a skill test, then a culture interview, then we check references. Some applicants went through this entire process twice (!) because they had the potential to fill multiple roles. There were so many talented, hardworking people who applied that we could have filled a dozen of roles. We appreciate your interest and your effort. Every minute of it. I sincerely hope we get to work together some day. If anyone reading this post is looking for sales talent, let me know. I'd be happy to connect you to some phenomenal people. (and we've got more roles still to be announced 😉) #gratitude #hiring #scaling
