Further to my previous post, please also see this from Darryl Kennard
Today we welcome Richard Johnson-Brown as a partner in our Piraeus office. We are incredibly excited. Richard is no ordinary hire. That statement is not just a reference to the undoubted skill and knowledge he possesses. It is also a reference to the fact that his recruitment brings to an end what has been an incredibly challenging ten months since we lost Douglas Bateson last June, and found ourselves having to rebuild in Greece in a post-Brexit era. You learn a lot when life casts you into choppy waters. I learnt that our Greek clients are incredibly supportive, and a particular shout out goes to Anna Kalathakis and Alexandros Tsakonas as well as James Bamforth and Efi Saisana-Palyvou. I learnt that with Helen Drayton at the helm, Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP is in safe hands with a CEO that is committed to the firm's shipping practice. I learnt that our office manager, Maria Baltopoulou, is an invaluable team member - when the going gets tough, she gets on it. However, and above all, I learnt that Evelyn Komaki is a person of real character. She is the rock on which we have been able to rebuild, first with Harry Rados (who has proved to be an exceptional addition) and now with Richard Johnson-Brown. Three remarkable women who together made it possible.

Finishing off the 5 day working week with the next Value in our StriVe Strategy.. and perhaps one of the most integral 😉 INTEGRITY Who amongst us does the right thing when no one is watching? 🫣 It's certainly a big question to ask ourselves and particularly when we dive into all areas of working and home life. Some of the qualities we associate with lived integrity here at St Vincents include: ⭐️ advocating for the teams best interest ⭐️ being consistent ⭐️ supporting St Vincents Lismore's values without expecting recognition ⭐️ having a strong work ethic ⭐️ honesty and diligence ⭐️ owning mistakes and being accountable ⭐️ self awareness and discretion Integrity is being honest with true moral principals and living these consistently and to the best of our ability. Integrity is a foundational value for our team at St Vincent's Lismore. #integrity #stvincentslismore

Excited to share the op-ed that Daphne Bond-Godfrey and I co-authored in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution titled "Intentionality is key to creating equitable opportunity within commercial real estate". In this article we touch on the importance of doing our part to shape the future of the built environment, work that directly aligns with the Urban Land Institute and Baker Tilly US’s commitments to DEI, stewardship and social impact. As we think about shaping the future our industry, its imperative that we commit to addressing the lack of diverse representation in commercial real estate. For me, two areas of focus are creating onramps for diverse talent into the industry, and identifying ways to democratize access to capital for diverse developers and asset managers. Every day, I am energized by the opportunity to lead the DevelUP platform, an extensive ecosystem comprising hundreds of multidisciplinary stakeholders from across the nation. Their shared commitment to enhancing our industry fuels our collective progress. I am deeply grateful for this journey and the inspiring change-makers I have encountered along the way. I am grateful for ULI Atlanta leadership - Daphne Bond-Godfrey, Amanda Rhein, and Tyrone Rachal, and DEI Committee co-chairs Keith Mack and Quinn Green, MBA for their vision, courage and commitment to this work, as well as my Baker Tilly colleagues Don Bernards, Todd Carpenter, Nuwandi Trahan, CPA, and Tracey B. Nguyen. The work is never finished, and I am excited to see all we accomplish together. #Atlanta #Economicdevelopment #ULI #DevelUP #Buildingequityfromthegroundup #collaboration #socialimpact #DEI #furthertogether #inclusiveleadership #talentdevelopment #accesstocapital
