The New York State Museum's latest exhibition, "Canine Contrasts: Unraveling Wolves and Coyotes in New York," features Taxidermy mounts and skulls of wolves and coyotes, both species from the Museum’s mammalogy collection. It also tells the story of a wolf that was recently mistaken for a coyote and killed by a licensed hunter near Cherry Valley, New York. https://bit.ly/4cKflxl This summer, join the Museum's Curator of Birds and Mammals, Dr. Jeremy Kirchman, for a short talk and Q&A held during lunchtime in which he will discuss the natural history of wolves and coyotes. Thanks Tahsin Rahman for the opportunity to share my research with your committee and hear more about the work that Sicame are doing to address these issues!
[MEETING] 👥 We held our first ever meeting with the #sustainability committee! Within the meeting we discussed inner development, green skills, and what the future will entail. Justin Isip, a PhD student from the Natural History Museum, spoke at this meeting about his research on how humans effect biodiversity on a global scale and the techniques he uses to understand it. 🌲 📣

A passionate Environmental Educator and communicator for over 20 years, I strive to foster connection with and stewardship for nature, by making environmental science accessible, engaging and relevant to my audiences.
Such a brilliant database, with the added citizen science input, real-time data quantity and quality collection continues to grow from strength to strength. This information can then direct conservation efforts in a more targeted and timely manner, picking up on emerging tends of observations (or lack there of) for species. It’s as simple as using the #atlasoflivingaustralia website https://lnkd.in/eEcEHAEP or supporting apps. My app of choice is #iNaturalist to record what where and when you find flora fauna or fungi. Uploading records is very easy;& I love the fact you just need a photo (or sound recording) to upload & the catalogue will give you a good guess, followed up by expert ID. A great resource for the nature enthusiast & students as well 👩🏻🏫 👩🎓 🌳 Happy flora fauna & fungi finding & uploading 📷 🐠 🔈 🐸 👁️ 🦋 🍄 #citizenscience
This fortnight we've uploaded >77k new records to the ALA ⭐ including updated data from SA Government Queensland Museum, Parks and Wildlife Service Western Australia, iNaturalist and more! 🔎 Check out the records here: 🔗 http://spr.ly/6043gEAHS

Isthmus Energy Systems is focused on developing agrivoltaic projects at the intersection of energy, agriculture, and sustainability.
The American Bison is the keystone species of the Great Plains. Illinois is the Prairie State. One of my goals is to see millions of acres to Bison range restored by grazing them beneath wind turbines combined with agrivoltaics. I've been inspired by Earthship Biotecture building methods throughout my life and hope to see earth berm passive geothermal structures create large enclosures combined with high tension electric fencing to make a series of zones for various agrivoltaics, carbon removal, and microgrids to support new advanced manufacturing based on the synergies of these methods. Biochar is one of most promising forms of carbon removal that can enter many aspects of circular economies and even value added to graphene using Flash Joule Heating. Modular datacenters with batched computing capable of balancing the grid can be paired with energy storage on every transformer at the base of each wind turbine or solar grid interconnection point. As a society we should aspire to build resilient infrastructure that is impervious to unforeseen future incidents like an Asteroid impact and so Earth Berm structures can protect these uninterruptible power supplies while sheltering the true treasure of this country in the form of biodiversity of living species across the great plains and their original stewards, The American Bison.
Hey You! Did you know buffalo is a common name or nickname for North American bison. It comes from the French word: boeufs (which means beef) Learn more out these amazing creatures on our website bisoncenter.org or stop in the museum today!

Executive Director at Springhouse–Fundamentally transforming the purpose and practice education to build beloved community
Creativity brings people together. Art sends a message. Springhouse hosts a Procession of the Species on Earth day each year and it is pretty magical. When we hold this parade, we honor the species of the Earth and we shed light on the danger they are in. Learning from the Earth and taking care of vulnerability are two of our cultural design principles. Through this parade, we practice those principles. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ekZFqbng

Museums move to better engage and educate the community but for natural history museums dinosaurs still hold the spotlight. They are key examples of the Earth's past and future. #dinosaurs #climatechange
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is nearing completion and the work being done is nothing short of transformative. This institution will serve as the benchmark for an entirely new natural history museum concept. We helped shape an approach that is more interactive and locally relevant in order to increase the accessibility to critical scientific concepts. We cannot wait for this one to open to the public! https://lnkd.in/epxetfSF
