Sometimes, the ultimate lesson is in respecting and understanding these timeless practices. This experience highlighted a crucial lesson for corporate culture: honoring and understanding diverse traditions can enrich our work environment and foster deeper connections. In my latest article for China Diplomatic Digest, I discuss the purpose of China's PLA Navy's goodwill visits. For nearly 40 years, China has been sending its navy on goodwill visits, starting with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh in 1985. This year, the PLA Navy has conducted multiple goodwill tours, from Southeast Asia to the Persian Gulf and West Africa. The purpose of these visits can be linked to both soft and hard power ambitions. In addition, two of the countries visited this year are also suspected to be planned hosts of PLA Navy bases. China's naval diplomacy is an element for China's foreign policy that is sometimes overlooked, with most articles discussing China's navy's involvements in disputes in the South China Sea. The Indonesian Warship | How Strong is it? Warships are vital for maritime security in the Indonesian archipelago. In my fictional world, Indonesia has 4th most strongest navy warship in the world. How strong do you think Indonesia's warships are?

India began developing its "Necklace of Diamonds" to counter China's "String of Pearls" notion, which basically garlands China and prevents its encirclement of the Indian Ocean. Which includes strategising the bases in the region: 1. Changi Naval Base, Singapore allowing the Indian Navy to refuel and rearm its ship through this base while sailing through the South China Sea. 2- Sabang Port, Indonesia: In 2018, India got military access to Sabang Port which is located right at the entrance of Malacca Strait. 3- Duqm Port, Oman: The Indian facility is located right between the two important Chinese pearls- Djibouti in Africa and Gwadar in Pakistan. 4- Assumption Island, Seychelles: This base is of strategic importance to India as China desperately wants to increase its presence in the African continent through the maritime silk route. 5- Chabahar Port, Iran: The port provides access to Afghanistan and an important trade route to Central Asia. In addition, India is carefully stepping up its diplomatic engagement with the countries on China's periphery in an effort to counter its strategies. The island is 20 km off the coast of Kuwait City in the Persian Gulf. The name "Failaka" is thought to be derived from the ancient Greek φυλάκιο(ν) – fylakio(n) "outpost". In the island exists ancient Greek ruins of temples that were constructed during Nearhos enterprise 24 centuries before! Operation "ASPIDES" which is conducted nowadays, prove the continuity of Hellenic Navy presence in well-known waters!

The Indian Navy is to upgrade its Naval Detachment in Mincoy Island to a fully-fledged naval base named 'INS Jayathu'. The commissioning of the facility is to take place on 6th March 2024. It will be the second naval base in the Lakshadweep archipelago, as India commissioned the INS Dweeprakshak in Kavaratti in the year 2012. Mincoy, the southernmost Island of the archipelago is of strategic importance, it lies near the nine-degree channel, close to vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs). The distance between Mincoy Island and Thuraakunu (the northernmost island of Maldives) is only 70 nautical miles. The Indian Government in an official release has emphasized the importance of having a reach of its Navy to facilitate both Anti-Piracy and Anti-Narcotics operations in the Western Arabian Sea. The improvement of the infrastructure of the Islands is another factor that forms part of government policy. But the facility may also serve another purpose; to keep an eye on China in the Southern Indian Ocean. Following the election of the new Maldivian president Mohamed Muizzu in September 2023, China has gained prominence in Male at the expense of India. Significant improvement has been made in China-Maldives relations following an inaugural state visit by President Muizzu in January 2024 and the signing of twenty agreements in multiple spheres. In January 2024, following a diplomatic row, Maldives requested India to withdraw its security personnel (who assist with the operation of reconnaissance aircraft) by 15th March. The new facility will enable India to regroup at an alternative site near the Maldives to keep up its surveillance operations and reach its immediate neighborhood. #maritimesecurity #india #lakshadweep #maldives
