Completely agree Richard. The OSI #GNSS-Denied software module as part of the Tactical Navigation of #ECPINS WECDIS provides Navies the critical capability to continue to fight and win at sea, despite GPS (GNSS) jamming, spoofing, etc.

Six large and "optionally crewed" naval vessels heavily armed with missiles will be added to Australia's surface fleet under a dramatic $11 billion reshaping of the navy that will also see the acquisition of 11 new general-purpose frigates to be partly built overseas. Under the sweeping overhaul, Australia's current fleet of combat-ready warships would rise from 11 to 26, consisting of nine "Tier 1" frigates and destroyers, and 11 smaller general-purpose frigates, as well as six optionally crewed vessels which will form a "Tier 2" force. https://lnkd.in/gbymqPjN

Heads up Royals! you're getting some new toys! Looks like six amphibious ships for the Marines to go along with the ships being built for the Royal Navy in a "New Golden Age for British Shipbuilding" This is to go alongside the Type 31 & Type 26 Frigates currently under construction at Babcock Rosyth and BAE Govan, the Remaining Astute and Dreadnought subs at BAE Barrow-in-Furness, the support vessels in the pipeline from Harland & Wolff. Not sure where the Amphibious assault vessels are to be built yet but its great to see the increase in Naval shipbuilding over the past few years and great to see the increase in defence spend. #shipbuilding #royalmarines #royalnavy #engineering #marineindustry

A warning restricting vessel traffic in a known area for ship-to-ship transfers of Russian crude has been extended until July 15, after it was first issued on April 30. A Navtex issued by the Hellenic Navy Hydrographic Service has warned of naval exercises in an area off the Peloponnese in the Laconian Gulf, taking place from 1500 hrs June 4 to 1500 hrs on July 15. This warning has been repeatedly extended for periods of two weeks since April 30, but this latest update is valid for six weeks and suggests permanency for what began as a temporary solution. Greece claims territorial waters up to six nautical miles from its coastline, but says it maintains the right to claim the full 12 nautical miles enshrined in Article 3 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. This leaves a small, sheltered area in the Laconian Gulf in international waters for tankers to complete ship-to-ship transfers of Russian crude https://lnkd.in/e-Xdfu4j

SecDef deploys a "Cruiser" to intercept drug smugglers and support USOUTHCOM's only viable mission, Theater Security Cooperations. The USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) is one of the Navy's preeminent counter cruise/ballistic missile defense ships. With the Navy failing to meet forward deployed goals (i.e. CVBG, ARG, etc.) and missile strikes from Iran backed groups at a apex, wouldn't it be better to send a Littoral Combat Ship (e.g., USS Minneapolis-St. Paul _LCS-21) to patrol the Caribbean?

One more warning from #UKMTO. Recent past events show that a boarding attempt on a #vessel is likely in the next coming days. All vessels in the area should alter course to sail at least 100NM away from the suspicious sighting. Strategic route planning, good lookout, proper citadel, reporting to the international authorities and the friendly naval forces, and the employment of reliable armed #security team, are essential for the safe passage through the #IndianOcean #HRA. #MaritimeSecurity is teamwork! #Somalia #Yemen
