Good morning again at the OHAI Trade show floor. I have Kathleen Walsh here from AOS. How are you? It's always good seeing you. So let's just jump right into it. How has new book helped you grow revenue with the properties that you guys own? And can you maybe give a couple of examples of maybe some of that functionality you've turned on and how that's helped? Sure, absolutely. So just to clarify, we don't own properties, we manage them. So we manage about 60 properties across the US and Canada and we use all the revenue boosting functionality of new book, whether it be the rates chart, which is where I live. That's where we yield rate up and down and look at our occupancies. One of the newest features we've turned on in new book is the texting feature. So the first month we beta tested the texting for early arrivals or late checkouts, we made $7000 in one month just by offering that feature over text. So of course once we beta tested it and we did $7000 we turned it on. So we love that feature of new book. Yeah, yeah, that's a great feature. And then another question, so like. Said you. You manage all of these parks and you know you've been a partner of ours. What's it look like from your perspective, like working with new book, how is our support and our staff, Ben and and how have we kind of helped maybe? Create those efficiencies and what's just, what's it like working with us? That's a great question. And if you know me, you know I'm a straight shooter. Yeah, I think new books, the best product in the industry and I've told new book if they stop being the best product in the industry, I will stop using them. But in all honesty, you guys are more like a partner than a vendor. We really view you that way. And the functionality of the system is something that this industry has needed for a very long time. I've been in the industry. 30 years. There was nothing like this when I came in. I had to build it. So the fact that I now have the functionality that you guys give right out-of-the-box is fantastic. We don't have to call support a lot because the system is really intuitive. But when we do, we get answers within an hour. And so you can't ask for more than that. Yeah. The other thing I want to say about you guys is you never go down. Yeah, I think in the 10 years we've used you, you've been down twice and you were back up within about two minutes. And you're also not glitchy when you release updates. They have been thoroughly tested. And so we don't have a glitchy system that we have to work through. Yeah, I I think you hit the nail on the head. Like we really lean into that partnership approach and like you said, we are the best, but we gotta keep staying the best. So last question, you know, with all of this information we've had even the last couple days and you're 30 years of experience, what do you think the next one, 2-3 years look look like in this industry and what do you think kind of the next big trends will be and and what's that going to look like? Yeah, I think AI is going to be a huge trend. You guys even talked about it. The other day AI when it comes specifically to revenue management, AI anticipating in yielding up or down based off their algorithms rather than us and our revenue managers doing it manually. I'm sure my revenue managers don't want to hear that because it might mean that we don't need as many as we have on staff. But I look at that as a big trend. I hope a trend coming is consolidation of data and something like the Star report for the outdoor hospitality industry. That would be huge. And whoever cracks that nut is going to be a millionaire overnight. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I really appreciate your time this morning, Kathleen. Like I said, always good seeing you. So thank you so much. Appreciate it.
Great interview Nicolas. “More like a partner and not like a vendor” is what great companies strive for. Kathleen, I agree, a shift away from manual revenue management practices in favor of AI and machine learning driven revenue management is coming. Adoption is going to mean greater accuracy with pricing and inventory decisions and getting them at a faster pace.
