Co-founder @ Pynest.io (premier outstaffing company for the Data Science community). We provide Senior Data Engineers & Python Experts for 250+ leading Software & IT Service businesses worldwide.
The highest paid person at every company has 1 thing in common 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆. Why do great salespeople make so much money? It’s simple. They tolerate the discomfort of being rejected. Ultimately, making the sale comes down to picking up the phone over and over again and not being afraid of rejection…because you’ll get a lot of it. Rejections sucks. I’ve been hung up on more times than I can count when cold calling hiring software companies to source candidates. I’ve been laughed at on calls with potential investors. I’ve had folks tell me we’ll never make money and that we should find something else to do. Get used to it. Because sales is a numbers game, pure and simple. Even if your close rate is only 2%, if you can push through 100 calls a day, that’s two new customers every day.

Founder @ Extension eCom | Ex-Amazon | Helping Amazon Brands Grow Sales by 40% Within 5 Months On A Pay-On-Results Basis 🚀
Initially when I started my, now, $50k / mo agency, I was the only person on the team. I cold called, took sales calls, sent contracts, signed clients, provided the service, renewed the contracts, expanded the service offering, sent the invoices, etc… 😵 Until one day, I ran into an issue. I had no time whatsoever. And so, I hired my first 'employee'. 🎉 Since then, I’ve hired over 15 people. I've made good hires, bad hires, had people quit, and had to fire people. Here’s two major takeaways that I’ve learned so far: 1️⃣ Similar to sales, you must have an “offer.” The first person I hired, I called my friend and told him to join and just talked about the vision. Luckily, we went back a few years and he had just finished up living in a van for 7 months so he said yes, we didn’t even have a contract to sign or anything. When it came to hiring people who I didn't know, things got a little bit more difficult. People didn't inherently trust or believe in me. This is when I learned just like in sales you must have an offer for your potential employee! I had to sell them on the transformation they will have professionally while working for Extension eCom. 🤝 2️⃣ Job posts are a waste of money But, like, how do you find people without a job post, dude? View recruiting like sales, do outreach, and have an internal employee referral bonus! For outreach, I pay for Indeed. I created a Boolean of any job title and paired it with the skills needed for the job. A simple example of a boolean would be something like: ("Amazon" or "Google") AND ("Account Manager" or "PPC Manager" or "PPC Specialist"). Set your ideal years of experience and DM them to see if they're interested in taking a call! The average job post would take 200+ applicants to hire someone, DMing takes me about 10 DMs to hire someone. For referral bonuses, ask your employees every time you're hiring if they know someone! Give them a bonus if the employees referral last 30 days working for the business. The referral process has built out my entire catalog team. By improving my approach to recruiting I’ve found more qualified candidates who are able to make a positive impact on my business faster! #recruiting #entreprenuership #agencylife #personaldevelopment #amazon

The job market is crazy. There’s 1000s of talented people who’re getting laid off. It’s sad to see people with families and kids are suddenly without a job. I know we’re all extremely busy in our lives. Everyone gets messages asking for a referral, asking for a coffee chat to learn more about the role. They’re reaching out because they’re in real need. They’re not trying to waste your time. Now I also know it’s not possible to help each and everyone but the least we can do is at least respond to these folks and be honest about what we can do or can’t do for them. When we ghost people cause we can’t care less about their situation, this is when we’re setting a bad precedence across the market. For those who don’t know me, I can assure you I will do whatever is in my power to help. For those who know me, you know I’m always by your corner! The next time someone is reaching out to you for an opportunity in your company that they want to apply for, least you can do is respond. Lastly, If there’s folks looking to break into SaaS sales, happy to chat and help out :) - Aaqib

I was once binned from an internal recruitment process because I didn't have a degree. I'd started at an outbound sales org 12 months previously. For context I'd started as a lowly agency cold caller on evening B2C calls. From that to a caller/co-ordinator on evening campaigns, then B2B daytime calls. Then a caller/co-ordinator of a team of 2, then 4, then 6 to eventually head co-ordinator of a team of 54 outbound B2B callers and 4 asst. co-ordinators. Within 12 months. All still via an agency. And then they advertised internally for a perm team co-ordinator for outbound B2B campaigns. I was duly interviewed and immediately rejected. I wanted feedback and I got it. No degree. None of the past 12 months stood for anything with the guy who interviewed me. So I told the agency I was quitting and wouldn't work there again. And if this is something you have encountered yourself, or you do, I would suggest you quit too and find an org that actually sees you for what you are, have done and can do. Degrees don't matter in sales. And don't let anyone tell you different. ☎️✅
