HR misconceptions. I appreciate this conversation so much because in reality HR acts as an in-house consultant. We provide recommendations but are rarely the decision maker. We empower leaders to understand risks. We share regulations, laws, best practices, and experience. We create thoughtful processes in order to achieve optimal outcomes. However, when something doesn't make sense or doesn't align with what you think HR should be doing, maybe we couldn't influence or impact the outcome in that way. But we can never say. Good HR is always working for the good of the company which also means putting people first because the people are the company.

I came across a thought-provoking post from Julie Turney (HRforHR) that I wanted to share with you all. It addresses some common misconceptions about HR, and I think it's a conversation we should all be part of. As an HR professional, I have come across many such situations, and here I would like to share one: " HR only cares about the company." From what I have experienced, people do not realize that we are as much an employee as the other members of the team. We are equally affected by the decisions and changes that happen in the organization. The reality is that HR truly cares about the well-being of employees as much as the company’s needs. We strive to uphold ethical practices and create a fair and supportive environment. It's about balancing the company’s goals with the welfare of the people.
