Attention ice cream lovers! Did you know all the milk used to produce our ice cream comes from Chew Valley Dairy? "Our family has been milking cows in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, for almost 500 years. Our long experience means we recognise the importance of ethical and sustainable farming. The Chew Valley Dairy has full organic certification: it means our organic milk has higher levels of animal welfare, lower levels of pesticides, no manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers, and more environmentally sustainable management of farmland and the natural environment – which means more wildlife!" Chew Valley not only look after their girls, but they work to tackle climate change too! "We are one of only a handful of UK farms to have an anaerobic digester, which converts farm by-products (including manure) into clean, low carbon energy that powers our farm and homes in a neighbouring village." All the love that goes into producing great milk at Chew Valley helps us make delicious ice cream here at New Forest Ice Cream. #britishfarming #milkmilkmilk #happycows

❓️Who wants strawberries with their Chrismas turkey? ➡️ Is this really the future of farming and where we want our food to come from? Industrial farming. ❌️ Farms run by private equity firms. In this case Cebus. ❌️ Farms that are focused on returns to investors. ❌️ Farms with no biodiversity and little care for the impact on the countryside. ❌️ Farms that are not part of the community. ❌️ Farms that green wash that this is sustainable. Read Professor Mike Berners-Lee. It is not! We are at a crossroads in farming and how we produce our food. Do we want family run farms that have looked after our country side or private equity firms taking over providing strawberries to go with our Christmas turkey? ✅️ I am sticking with Christmas pud and some lovely cream. #Biodiversity is at the heart of responsible #coffee farming. When you visit a coffee farm, you'll notice it's surrounded by other types of plants and trees, like bananas, avocados, and citrus. By planting other crops around coffee, farmers create a diverse #ecosystem that promotes healthier soil, reduces pests naturally, and provides shade for coffee plants. This kind of polyculture also helps protect wildlife, as it supports a variety of animals and insects. Responsible farmers know that biodiversity leads to healthier coffee plants and a more sustainable way of farming. Next time you enjoy a cup of coffee, remember the balanced ecosystems that make it possible. It’s not just about the beans—it’s about a commitment to nature and sustainable practices. 🌱🌳🐦 #Biodiversity #CoffeeFarming #Sustainability #SavoraCafé
