Last night, I attended the Consensus Awards Presentation - by Senator the Hon Jonathon Duniam, Shadow Minister for the Environment, Fisheries and Forestry. Since 1999, 25 years, these awards have been looking to identify and award innovation, performance, and potential. Last night there were 4 companies that stood on stage to be recognised. It got me thinking about winning an award. Founders, what value do you place on an award? Interested in your thoughts. Is there a better way? #fractionalsalesleadership #consensus

🌳Did you know Vaughan is home to more than 135,000 street trees and 195 hectares of woodlots? To manage up to 3,000 non-urgent forestry service requests at a given time, the City is adopting an innovative approach to streamline our services. Previously, staff managed these requests manually with printed work orders. Now, the Parks, Forestry, and Horticulture Operations team has developed a location-based system to discharge both outstanding work orders in tandem with high-priority cases. As a result, the team is now able to respond to double the requests using the same resources as before! Trees are integral to our city’s character, enhancing the quality of life while generating economic benefits that support local businesses and residents in our community. #Vaughan businesses can play an important part in keeping Vaughan green! Join us and become a Green Guardian by participating in corporate tree planting or community planting programs! 🔗 Learn more: vaughan.ca/GreenGuardians #Innovation #TreePlanting #GreenGuardians
Recently, the City of Vaughan received the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators 2024 Willis Award for Innovation for our new approach to reduce wait times for forestry-related service requests. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gHxKjx-Z
