Did you know that our adoptive families go through an extensive home study process to make sure that they are a good fit for adoption? They are background checked, fingerprinted, have 3 personal references + a reference from a pastor, visits to their home and more. We have great waiting adoptive families. On May 25th, National Adoption Day in Brazil, we celebrate a date representing a manifesto to defend that any adoption takes place legally, safely, transparently, and lasting. I invite families to read the children's book "Flora's Family" by Annette Aubrey, which you can find at the City of Palmerston Library, which helps families talk about adoption with all children, whether they were adopted or not, in a gentle, understanding way. After all, adoption should not be a topic reserved only for adoptive families. When we broaden the conversation and bring awareness to what adoption truly means, we can help dispel misconceptions and build a more inclusive society. #NationalAdoptionDay #Brazil #AdoptionAwareness
