In 2024, we launched two sites at Governors Island and the Brooklyn Navy Yards, introduced our product Cycleau at 17 events across three countries, and developed new features for solar power and smart water quality monitoring. 2024: A Year of Experiences, Learnings and Gratitude. As we step into 2025, I had taken a moment to look back 2024, a year filled with challenges, valuable lessons, and personal growth. One of my strongest takeaways this year was the power of resilience. There were moments when setbacks looked unavoidable, but embracing change and staying adaptable helped me overcome challenges and grab the experiences and learning for my next steps. Another key lesson was the power of collaboration. I experienced how much more we can achieve and learn when we unite, share insights, and uplift one another. The first step is often to open up, discuss, ask for help, share your experiences, embrace the differences. These lessons have been equally relevant in personal life, especially  when raising a teen in this ever evolving technology time. Rather its new lesson each day :) As we just moved into 2025, looking forward to apply these lessons: staying resilient, collaborating, reaching my small goals and continuing to evolve both personally and professionally. A heartful thank you to everyone who has supported me directly or indirectly in 2024. Wishing you all a prosperous and fulfilling 2025. New Year, time to write a new chapter…

3 lessons I've learned in 20+ years of being a commercial photographer. It's been an extraordinary ride filled with ups and downs, but I'm grateful for every experience that has shaped me along the way. Here are 3 lessons: 1 - Adaptability is Key: The industry is always evolving, and staying flexible has allowed me to stay ahead. Embracing new techniques, technologies, and trends keeps my work fresh and relevant. 2 - Relationships Matter: Building strong connections with clients, colleagues, and the creative community has been invaluable. Trust and collaboration lead to better projects and lasting partnerships. 3 - Passion Fuels Success: Loving what I do has been the driving force behind my career. Passion turns challenges into opportunities and keeps me motivated through every twist and turn. Thank you all for your continuous support and encouragement. Here's to even more exciting adventures ahead!

They love to get me to sit and talk! So that I did! 💜 I share my favorite moments, what keeps me going, my strategy in developing my team and my response to the ever popular question: what advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the event industry. This year has been nothing short of a major blessing - the yeses, the nos, the not quite yet. The successes, the fail forwards. The anxiety inducing moments, the overwhelmingly joyous moments that brought tears. I won’t trade any of it! I even had my most “viral” post on LinkedIn this year, still 🤯 about that! Speaking your truth has value. Holding your boundaries has value. Knowing who you are has value. Honouring who is responsible for it all brings more value! 🙏🏾 Thank you to everyone who has left a comment, shared my posts, shared their feedback when we met up in person and very importantly, those who invested in my services. 😃 Things are baking at TCJ Events and I can’t wait to share. Yes, this isn’t your standard Linkedin post, but if this could help someone else take the right step towards better living, then mission accomplished! I did it. I achieved the goal I had set for myself: 10% body fat by 50. I’ve always been an active, athletic person, but with age came new restraints, and my body made sure to inform me of my new limitations. It was disheartening to say the least… no more 10Ks, no more rigorous exercise, it was over. Or so I thought. Through my research into wellness and longevity, I stumbled upon the wonderful Harjit Bahia and her company LONGEVITY, who helped me recapture the vitality that I mistakenly thought I’d lost. By focusing on multiple pillars of longevity, including nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, and community, I was able to get back in the driver’s seat. This isn’t a bragging post, nor is it an ad per se. It’s a thank you letter to the brilliant team at LONGEVITY and Harjit Bahia, the latter whom I will be working with on my next venture: ZOI. Our objective? To establish a data-driven, informed, monitored and measured approach to health, leveraging the latest technology, and empowering people to become the CEOs of their own health. We’re excited to bring this to all of you!

Multiplayer presentations are really effective.

Not only was it my honor to nominate Karen Hao for this, I found myself citing her latest work yesterday in my panel on Humanism and AI at the same American Humanist Association conference. It's a story about how Microsoft presents its AI as a climate solution, reducing one facility's emissions by 340,000 metric tons of CO2 per year. But the company emitted 1.2 billion metric tons of CO2 last year. (3,529x the reduction!) The late University of Chicago Divinity School theologian Jonathan Z. Smith argued that one of the fundamental building blocks of religion is “its capacity for rationalization, especially as it concerns that ideological issue of relating that which we do to that which we say or think we do.” To my eye, the great work that Karen does, alongside colleagues like Matteo Wong, Damon Beres, Gideon Lichfield and others, could even be plausibly compared to the work of the Boston Globe's Spotlight team, on the Catholic Church. Sure, there's more subtlety and nuance to the unfolding story of AI, and thankfully the wrongdoing involved is less shocking. But what we are seeing in this "industry" (that I've come to see as more like a religion) is the construction of a mythology—even a theology—of both righteousness and inevitability. Great journalism, like good humanist philosophy, challenges such narratives and therefore allows us to envision other, more genuinely human possibilities. https://lnkd.in/erm4heSu

Here are some of the topics on the reading list today: - An analysis of “lying flat” through the lens of self-determination theory. - Pairing intuition with data-driven approaches to improve lawyer decision-making in complexity. - I would not have seen it if I did not believe it: critically analysing the implications of confirmation bias in lawyer decision-making. - The importance of leader emotional agility as an enabler of effective performance dialogue. - Psychological safety and in-house lawyering; is there room? - A critique of the Cynefin framework: complexity of concepts and language cause challenges in practice. - The role of psychological safety in employee voice and silence in a law firm. - Psychological safety, collaboration and performance in the human complexity of a global mining company. Interestingly, nobody in this class seems to have taken me up on my standing invitation to use their essay to critically analyse LLE through the lens of intersectionality. Thank you to all the wonderful professionals from around the world who have chosen to do LLE with me so far. It has been a joy to work with you.

I would like to say thank you to everyone at SANY AMERICA who has played a vital role in building and sustaining our Attachment Project at the ECDC. Being chosen to work on this project by a colleague has truly shown me what a mentor really is. When he talked, I listened and paid close attention and vice versa. He knows engineering and systems and I know how to manage people and implement processes. Our talent isn’t what made this project so successful, it was our respect and trust amongst one another for what we knew individually that made this project flourish. One thing, there was a slight language barrier and a few cultural differences. We identified this early on to be the key building block to our future success. Not understanding each other and knowing it made the job fun. We talked about family, music, travel, work, but the best life lesson was being introduced to the stoic philosophy. Stoic is a person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining. If you want to be happy, have zero expectations. Don’t try to change others. Change how u deal with them. Most importantly if it makes sense, DO IT!!
