The Food Systems Institute at the University of Nottingham has been a work of passion for the last 2-3 years, firstly putting in place the groundwork for it and then co-developing it under the great leadership and direction of Jack A Bobo. His leadership has charted a direction of travel and over the next years starting today I will be continuing that work to accelerate the translation of the immense research knowledge generated across all aspects of the Food System by our academic colleagues at the University of Nottingham and our partners. The next 50 years will be the most important so far in our human existence and the food we eat and the way we produce it is a critical part of that story. Changing the food system is complex and it is only through partnerships and collaboration that we can address the challenges we face so let's work together now and build a better future. Through research, engagement and collaboration we can make our planet and its people healthier. This is our mission.
