As summer starts to come to a close, so does internship season. Sadly, we've still seen a LOT of unpaid internships floating around this year - but they're getting sneakier. So a friendly reminder that an unpaid internship is still an unpaid internship, even if… 🎓 It’s part of a degree programme ✈️ It’s an international student  🧑🎓 It’s facilitated by a university careers scheme You’re still benefitting from unpaid labour, which exploits the individual and excludes those who are not independently wealthy. You’re giving those with privilege a leg up, and holding back those who can’t afford to add your great opportunity to their CV. If you can’t afford an intern, you shouldn’t have an intern. Let's do better next year.
