"Through community energy and local ownership, more of us can have a stake in the energy that we depend on. That isn’t inevitable. There are examples around the world of clean energy projects that have displaced people from their land, or prioritised exports over local needs. But at its best, it’s entirely possible to rebalance political and economic power through renewable energy." From my Arrival co-author Jeremy Williams, citing the example of Australia's Western Green Energy Hub: https://lnkd.in/g7F2EJfg The Next Economy

This week, the UK launched the Global Clean Power Alliance, uniting 12 nations and key partners like the US and EU to accelerate the global shift to renewable energy. The focus? Tackling critical challenges such as unlocking private finance for developing countries, tripling renewable capacity, and doubling energy efficiency. For those of us in renewable energy, this signals a significant moment: 🦺 Leadership matters. With the UK spearheading this initiative, it reinforces our position as a global leader in clean energy innovation and investment. 🗂️ Action is key. £34.8 billion in private investment since July is a great start, but the true test will be translating these commitments into tangible progress. 🤝Collaboration is essential. Partnerships between developed and developing countries are critical to ensuring that no one is left behind in this transition. As a global renewable energy company based in the UK, we welcome this ambition. It’s a strong reminder that we’re not just building a business; we’re part of a broader mission to create a cleaner, more sustainable future.
