While CNN, commonly known as Cable News Network, is a major news organization, it likely isn't referring to cutting-edge research projects. Here's a LinkedIn post you can use focusing on CNN's journalistic contributions:
Did you know that CNN (Cable News Network) is a multinational news channel headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with a global reach?
CNN is a household name when it comes to breaking news and in-depth reporting. They cover a wide range of topics, including:
Global politics and business
Entertainment and pop culture
Weather and science
Sports
CNN keeps pace with the ever-changing media landscape by continually innovating. Digital platforms and streaming services complement their traditional cable television broadcast, ensuring their news reaches a broad audience. #CNN#News#Media#CurrentEvents#egreenews#inergency#elclubdecomerciantes#emergencypreparedness#leadership#inclusion#mentalhealth#disasterresponse#hugihernandez

Looking forward to our conversation with newsroom executives from around the country on “Media Bias Barrier: Covering Missing Persons Cases.” at the Radio Television Digital News Association summit, @rtdna.news.
Our panel will explore the potential for bias in missing persons cases and discuss how journalists can avoid it as well as insight and strategies every newsroom should know. This could lead to more comprehensive and fair coverage of missing persons cases at a time when people of color represent more than 40% of all missing person cases.

For my older daughter's entire life, I've talked about "Huntley-Brinkley'ing" acquisition briefings, and I just found out last night that she had no idea what I meant. Funny how time rolls on, and new terminology pops up, and old terminology dies out and you don't realize it. Pop culture is like a private, unspoken language.
I first started using the term when I was an intern and all the acquisition experts were older than I was and had been present for the Huntley-Brinkley news-team from 1956 to 1970. I knew who they were because I was in elementary school during their last episode, and watching the nightly news was a big deal in our house when I was a child, especially because my big brothers were draft-age and their friends weren't coming home from Vietnam. (Let me know if I need to explain the concern.) Those were the days of Walter Cronkite, Chet Huntley, and David Brinkley.
Huntley and Brinkley were dual anchors, said goodnight to each other at the end of the show, and just ... CLASSY ... presenters. They were great role models for why I, ten years later, declared a journalism major, about a year before the beginning of 24-hours news and an opinion-based, advertising-based journalism model. For laughs, I'm linking their last episode, which shows their rival at CBS saying goodbye to the NBC team (the 2 big networks then, and 2 of maybe 3 channels you could get on your newfangled color TVs that weighed 500 pounds).
So when you hear a boomer or older GenXer talking about Huntley-Brinkley'ing an acquisition briefing, they simply mean they're going to trade-off parts of the briefing with a PM, Contracting Officer, etc, in a very classy and informed way.

📰 The Decline of Local News: Impact on Immigrant Communities
Key Facts:
🗞️ Since 2005, the U.S. has lost 1/3 of its newspapers and 2/3 of its newspaper journalists (Associated Press)
📉 In 2023 alone, 2.5 newspapers closed each week, highlighting a deteriorating media landscape. (Associated Press)
🚨 At least 1,265 websites identified as being backed by dark money or are intentionally masquerading as local news sites for political purposes (Axios)
🗳️ 45% of the partisan sites observed targeted communities or regions in swing states (Axios)
As local news declines and partisan outlets rise, immigrant communities, especially Spanish-speaking Latinos, are vulnerable to misinformation, with digital platforms often overlooking crucial topics like immigration policy and public benefits. ❌
Noticias Para Inmigrantes bridges this gap by delivering accurate, community-centric news through a trusted friend-to-friend model and transcreation process, partnering with lawyers, advocacy groups, and local entities to amplify initiatives and boost community engagement. 🗣️
🔹 Our Approach:
We translate complex national news, federal policies, and public benefits into community-specific information, incorporating cultural nuances to foster a two-way dialogue within the community.
In a time of increasing misinformation, our role is critical in providing our communities with the trustworthy information they deserve.
