Payoneer has announced a significant hike in its transaction fees for users in Pakistan, which could affect local freelancers relying on the platform. Popular online money transfer service Payoneer has raised the cost of sending and receiving money in Pakistan by a considerable amount. The old fee structure charged 2% of the total transaction amount; under the new structure, fees are 3% of the total transaction amount plus an extra set fee of $0.49 for all USD transactions. Freelancers from India, Pakistan, Philippines, Turkey, Canada, and the UK can now withdraw funds from their Guru Cash Account to a Non-U.S. Bank Account. (Freelancers from additional countries will be able to add a non-U.S. bank account over the next several months.) This is an excellent fund withdrawal option for those freelancers who previously used Payoneer or who prefer withdrawing funds to a non-U.S. bank account.
