Caesarean births are most common surgeries around the world, amounting to 20% of total surgeries. Any learning to decrease morbidity and mortality in #Cesarean births will lead to improved surgical ecosystem as a whole. Last week, we concluded a workshop which aimed to develop a global safe #caesarian checklist using a #human centered design approach. Forty experts from around India sat together to give shape to a prototype checklist and discuss opportunities for implementation in rolling the checklist out in India. This global tool is adaptable, modifiable and can be integrated as per different needs of stakeholders. The Magic of Words ... "To Manage or Cure" BPH BPO is a mechanical problem that needs a mechanical solution (when warranted). Deobstruction would be a "treatment", a "therapy", or a potential "CURE!" WORLD ANAESTHESIA DAY World Anaesthesia Day commemorates the birth of anaesthesia on 16 October 1846. Millions of children are anaesthetised each year. Some are fortunate enough to be looked after in dedicated paediatric centres, undergoing surgery and anaesthesia with fully trained specialists. At the other end of the spectrum there are places where children do not receive surgery because of a lack of trained anaesthetists or suitable equipment. Almost all anaesthetists, particularly those working in developing countries, expect to care for children regularly.
