The plaque is featuring Apollo and Artemis as children, each with a serpent, is a fascinating piece of ancient art that would indeed be significant. Apollo and Artemis are twin siblings in Greek mythology, and they are often depicted together in various forms of art. Apollo is the god of the sun, music, and prophecy, while Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and childbirth. Heraclea Lyncestis is an ancient Greek city located in what is now the Republic of North Macedonia. Founded by Philip II of Macedon in the middle of the 4th century BCE, it was an important strategic and economic center. The city is known for its well-preserved ruins, including a theater, thermal baths, and beautiful floor mosaics. Artifacts like the one you mentioned are valuable as they offer insights into the religious practices and artistic expressions of the time. Depictions of deities as children are less common than their adult representations, making such a find particularly interesting. The presence of serpents might relate to ancient Greek religious symbolism or myths surrounding the deities.

🔸One of 4 golden hats found throughout Germany (3) and France (1). Nearly 3500 years old. The hats are associated with the Bronze Age Tumulus culture and Urnfield culture. Their close similarities in symbolism and techniques of manufacture are testimony to a coherent Bronze Age culture over a wide-ranging territory in western and central Europe. A comparable golden pectoral was found at Mold, Flintshire, in northern Wales, which is of somewhat earlier date.' 'It is assumed that the golden hats served as religious insignia for the deities or priests of a sun cult then widespread in Central Europe. Their use as headgear is strongly supported by the fact that the three of four examples have a cap-like widening at the bottom of the cone, and that their openings are oval (not round), with diameters and shapes roughly equivalent to those of a human skull. The figural depiction of an object resembling a conical hat on a stone slab of the King's Grave at Kivik, Southern Sweden, strongly supports their association with religion and cult, as does the fact that the known examples appear to have been deposited (buried) carefully.'

Enchanting creatures like the Banshee and the Púca provide a fascinating glimpse into the spiritual beliefs and cultural heritage of the pre-Christian Irish people. Sacred Landscapes: The ancient Irish regarded certain landscapes as sacred, often associating them with mythology and spiritual significance. Places like the Hill of Tara, an ancient royal site where the High Kings of Ireland were said to be crowned, and Navan Fort, a ceremonial and ritual complex, were considered important centers of power and religious activity. Celtic Art and Symbols: The intricate and mesmerizing designs of Celtic art have their roots in pre-Christian times. Knotwork, spirals, and interlacing motifs adorned stone carvings, metalwork, and manuscripts such as the world-renowned Book of Kells. These symbols represented the interconnectedness of nature and spirituality, and their legacy can still be seen in modern Irish jewelry and artwork. Druids and Spiritual Practices: The Druids were the priestly class of the ancient Celts and played a significant role in religious and cultural life. They performed rituals, acted as advisors, and were the keepers of knowledge. While much of their practices and wisdom have been lost over time, there is ongoing interest in reviving aspects of Druidry

The main traditions and beliefs in the craft include Gardnerian Wicca, Alexandrian Wicca, Dianic Wicca, the Faery tradition, which has many branches of Celtic-based Wicca and other forms, which are often called Eclectic Wicca. Wiccans draw their practices and information from many different sources. They may call themselves witches. Wiccans accept that everything emanates from the ‘One World’ – the universe – and is in perpetual motion. All things rise and fall in a tidal movement that reflects the motion inherent in the universe. Therefore the Wiccan practitioner celebrates, harmonizes with, and makes use of, the natural flow expressed through the sequence of the seasons and the motion of the solar system. These ritual observances are the eight great festivals of the year, known as Sabbats, referred to as the Wheel of the Year. Operating the Laws of Polarity, the Wiccan is also conscious of the forces and tides of the Moon. Examples of spells and rituals using these forces are given shortly. https://lnkd.in/ea2AuA3q

Some prominent elements discussed by scholars of art in this famous Cimabue- the Byzantine theme of Ὁδηγήτρια - the Blessed Virgin Mary "pointing" to Her Son as the Divine Savior. This is combined with the Latin theme of Sedes Sapientia - the Virgin Mary as Enthroned Wisdom. Though Cimabue is chronologically close to the frontier of the Florentine Renaissance, most of the notable aspects of this painting strike one as more typically medieval in its symbolic rather than naturalistic space. The use of Gold Leaf to represent the sky (different from the blue of Giotto), shows the REPRESENTATION of the heavenly sphere is more important than trying to depict the sky as it is. The Christ Child is clearly adult-like and not at all like a real baby - perhaps to accent His place as the Eternal Word at the center of the cosmos and history. The use of perspective is limited. And the proportions are not at all lifelike, especially if we extend our eyes to the prophets of Israel below the throne of Mary.

Why Greek & Roman Greats Are Shown Having Small Penises! Ever wondersed why Ancient Greek and Roman sculptures and statues depict great men with small penises? As I have discovered that in ancient Greece, a smaller penis was seen as a sign of self-control and intelligence, unlike in other cultures where a large penis was often associated with virility and manliness. It has been pointed out by experts that only uncultured individuals would boast about having a large penis, driven by their base desires. In Greece, the size of a man's manhood did not indicate power or strength; true authority came from intellect rather than physical attributes. During my visit to Italian cities like Rome and Florence, I wondered at artworks such as Baccio Bandinelli's Hercules and Bartolomeo Ammannati's Neptune, surrounded by mythical creatures. These figures were depicted with small penises, emphasizing heroism over physical size. It is truly remarkable to note that modern societies have completely forgotten this Greek virtue and completely overtaken by the idea of massive dicks. How did this happen, it needs to be studied.
