📢 The "biodiversity credit" proposed by Verra (SD VISta Nature Framework) is an innovative mechanism aimed at promoting the conservation and restoration of biodiversity within climate change mitigation projects. It seeks to reward endeavors that help protect valuable ecosystems and preserve biological diversity, all while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Verra's biodiversity credit system takes a comprehensive approach by evaluating the impact of projects on local communities, plant life, and wildlife, and how these efforts align with global environmental sustainability objectives. 🌳 🐞 🐆 This methodology will promote projects that, in addition to planting trees, can also bring back the full spectrum of biodiversity (mammals, birds, insects, etc), improving the ecosystem services so important to us.
