Did Iceland challenge the 1980’s monstrosity Jason Wroe ? 🤣
I worked for Newydd from 1988 to 2000. In 1988 Newydd was not performing well and as part of the new Management Team we turned it around. I was always embarrased that our new logo cost a lot of money and was simply a duplicate of the Iceland logo. As a result of that the best offered was the 'flick' under new which obviously is the English translation and defined us as a new emerging association. What a long way the association has come since then and continues to go from strength to strength
I’m sure Paul Roberts can share an insight into many of them ! ….
Retired. Former Chief Executive at Newydd Group.
4moJust seen this. I recall all of those. I joined in 1992 during the “Iceland” years. As Paul Davies says things were not great with the organisation and spending money and time on a rebrand were not top of the list of priorities. When things settled down we did the rebrand. I admit I was not happy with the cracked house logo, it looked like we were falling apart but it won my Board’s approval so I lived with it. The more recent ones (I’m including the Cadarn logos) I like and think they still look good.
