Bridging the educational divide starts with providing access to technology.   But it doesn’t end there.   Putting technology in the hands of underserved students, giving them the option to pursue STEM education, builds a foundation of knowledge they need to compete in a fast-paced world.   But knowledge is only half the equation.   Connections and relationships are the other half.   Mentorships, internships and networking help students get into careers that put their knowledge to work. Hire Talent and Access Small Business Grants All on One Platform! The Minnesota Technology Association is looking to distribute 300 small business grants, each worth up to $2,500, through our SciTech Internship Program by May 31. Companies can use this free resource to connect with pre-vetted talent and access funds when you hire STEM interns through the SciTech Program. You will receive a $2,500 grant to cover half of their wages, up to $5K. Employers can hire 5 interns each year, for a maximum reimbursement of $12,500! Startups and small companies with fewer than 250 employees can qualify SciTech is a free resource for students and small employers At least 250 wage matches are available on a first-come, first-hire basis Industries include tech, biotech, engineering, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, ag and more! Yes, We Tech! is back! This award-winning program, through the First State Tech Partnership, is back with a 2024 cohort slated to begin on June 17th. Here’s everything you need to know to spread the word to students, parents, and educators.  📅 Open Enrollment period is February 5 - March 8, 2024 at 5:00pm. 🎓 Eligibility: Rising high school seniors in New Castle County, DE attending a public or charter school (homeschool rising seniors are also eligible). 💼 7-week paid internship with classroom training and work-based learning. 💻Fun Fact: Every Job is a #techjob! Technology skills are needed in all jobs, so this program is about supporting students with developing a broad range of technology skills and demonstrating those skills in industries like Energy, FinTech, Non-Profit, Real Estate & Construction, and Banking. 📢 Spread the word to rising seniors in Delaware, especially those that are underrepresented in the #techindustry! How I Made $5500 in College ... in just 3 months Day 45 - #100dayschallenge I often receive questions from students like: "Is it really possible to earn that much while studying?" "How can contributing to open-source projects pay off so well?" Let me tell you, it's not only achievable, it's a path I've walked myself! Back in 2014, I joined Google Summer of Code and interned with the Mifos Initiative and Google. That year marked the 10th anniversary of GSoC, and the stipend at that time was $5500. (the good old days 😅) What is GSOC? A global initiative where Google supports contributors developing open-source software. Fast-forward to today, and GSoC is open to anyone new to open-source, not just students! What’s more? 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of GSoC, and for those in India, there's an opportunity to earn a stipend up to $3000. How can you participate?
