However, this decade, with the pandemic and its downstream changes, seems to be changing our world more than ever before. Here is my take on the megatrends for this decade. ->Tech driven innovation: With key tech roles like AI, Data and cybersecurity growing at a CAGR of over 35%, the future of talent will be defined by the pace of reskilling and the inevitability of role changes by people who cannot keep pace. We need to prepare for large shifts in work patterns and job movements. ->Skills over degrees: In the past year, LinkedIn has seen a 21% increase in job postings advertising skills and responsibilities instead of qualifications. This indicates a broader trend towards skill based hiring that is helping companies find right skilled talent, recruit faster and reduce overall cost of hiring. ->Global talent pools: According to a survey by ManpowerGroup, 69% of employers believe that tapping into global talent is crucial for maintaining a competitive edge now than ever before. Businesses have moved on from tapping global talent for reasons of cost and believe that embracing diverse perspectives from a global talent pool fosters innovation and resilience in the face of market dynamics. ->Diversity and Inclusion: The pandemic has tilted the scales for diversity allowing more female workers to join the workforce with the new found flexibility in work hours and remote work models, especially in the tech industry.
