#GAIN #DAY3 Panel “Illuminating the black box” Key takeaways; The discussion was about how businesses can trust AI, the outputs generated and implement those models for customer facing use cases. The host asked Dr. David Leslie -Director of Ethics and Responsible Innovation Research at The Alan Turing Institute-, what AI policy makers need to consider to help in Explainable and transparent AI. Dr. David mentioned that they should establish end to end trancparency and accountability requirements for the design and development of those systems. Transparency not only the explainabilty and interpretablilty of the ouputs generated, but also process based transparency in terms of the processes involved in the design, development and deployment of the models; 1- Have sufficient bias mitigation practices. 2- Have sufficient explainability techniques explored 3- Have Safety, reliability and security assurance practices occured. Things like this can increase the certainty and trustworthiness of those systems. #AI #GenAI

As we increasingly integrate artificial intelligence into decision-making processes, it's crucial to recognize the profound shift in accountability that accompanies this reliance. While AI systems offer efficiency and data-driven insights, the responsibility for decisions made by these systems ultimately rests on the humans who design, implement, and oversee them. Acknowledging that AI itself is not subject to consequences emphasizes the need for robust ethical frameworks, transparency, and human oversight. In this age of technological advancement, our accountability extends beyond merely trusting algorithms; it involves ensuring that the ethical considerations governing AI align with the values and expectations of those affected by its decisions. #airesponsibility #ethicalai #decisionmaking
