So, there I was, signing up for SVKM's Training & Placement Cell not in the queue waiting for my turn this time to be selected as a the placement coordinator, but as a panelist of interviewers supporting the organization to shortlist for the next batch of student coordinators! Yayy!
Being on the other side felt like revisiting college - all that nostalgia, uff! ❤
But hey, it wasn't just a sentimental trip down memory lane. I learned a ton too:
1) Be Present: Turns out, focusing on the candidate's answers (instead of crafting your next zinger of a question) is actually pretty darn helpful. Duh? right? But being in the present takes mindful practice.
2) Spontaneity is Your Friend: Follow-up questions are like improv comedy - they keep things interesting and reveal if someone's a master thespian or the real deal.
3) Body Language Tells Tales: Pay attention to those non-verbal cues - sometimes they have a different story to tell than their words.
4) Confirmation Bias? Not Today: When the whole panel agrees, it's like a mini high-five for your objectivity!
Overall, a fantastic experience and a amazing in-between conversations with my fellow panelists - Urja Malhotra Hilonee Shah Abhinandan Kalia
Thank you Amrita Phillips and Nainesh Koli for the opportunity!
