Many people expect stuff to be fixed immediately but few realize just how much work is going on behind the scenes - sometimes with risk - to actually fix it. Every line worker I've talked to (admittedly, only a handful) talked about the excellent pay but also the long travel, grueling schedule, and sometimes immense workloads involved in doing their jobs. But, I never heard a complaint.

Happy Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day! A huge thank you to the dedicated lineworkers who tirelessly ensure our power stays on, no matter what challenges come their way. Your hard work and commitment keep our communities safe and connected, rain or shine. It's a tough job that often goes unnoticed, but today we celebrate and appreciate all you do. How can we as a community continue to show our support and gratitude for these essential workers throughout the year?

I still remember all the long days and nights when we faced significant hurricanes in 2004 and 2005. I was humbled to work with such dedicated FPL colleagues and support the line workers who made significant sacrifices before, during, and after the storms. I was proud to be part of that team! Wilma was the unexpected CAT 5 late in the season that set records and severely damaged grid infrastructure, but thanks to our team's dedication, we responded quickly and rebuilt.

It has been said, ‘Every job has its heroes, but the line worker faces the elements and the unknown every day.’ We agree and say thank you for the courage and skill that you show everyday. Thank you. #Lineworkerheroes #ThankaLineworker

Thanks to the team at FPL and across the State of Florida to all those Line Workers who do their best to keep the lights on and get the lights on as soon as safely possible! #ThankaLineworker

That's wonderful! It's important to acknowledge the vital work lineworkers do. What are some of the biggest challenges they face in Florida?

So very thankful for all the FPL Lineworkers who bring it 100% every day. Often we don't appreciate our many creature comforts until the power goes out. Much Respect! Thank you all for showing up and gettin' it done! #givingthanks

Not all heroes wear a cape, some wear a hard hat and steel-toe boots! This type of work is truly admirable. Thank you for all the hard work you do every single day. 💡🏡
