Our team recently participated in a Company-Wide Day of Volunteering! Reston, VA - "We had a wonderful time supporting the Women Giving Back organization, aiding women and children in crisis by providing quality clothing at no cost. Our team helped sort clothing donations for distribution to local families worldwide!" Dallas, TX - Zahkyia was honored to volunteer at the Salvation Army Carr P. Collins mobile food pantry. She said, "Together with fellow volunteers, we packed approximately 700 bags with essential dry and canned goods. Families picked up these crucial supplies, ensuring they no longer have to choose between paying bills and feeding their loved ones. The Carr P. Collins Social Service Center is a remarkable facility offering a range of vital services including homelessness prevention, job readiness courses, and financial education." Chicago, IL - Our team headed off to Lincoln Park for a park cleanup, making the area cleaner and greener for everyone to enjoy! San Diego, CA - "We packed 500 dignity packs that Think Dignity will distribute to local people experiencing homelessness. It was a fantastic cause to support, and our assembly line truly crushed it!" Together, our efforts are building a stronger, more compassionate community! Way to go team! #KTCareers #JobsAtKellyTelecom #Volunteer #GiveBack #DayofVolunteering

If anyone is interested in volunteering/serving in New York City - every year City Relief partners with Rescue Alliance to offer a warm meal, hope, help and conversation to those experiencing homelessness. I have been on this incredible outreach in the past and there is no more tangible way to help than to directly go and extend our own hands to those who need it. https://lnkd.in/gWe3jmWQ

Volunteerism is important! Every January, volunteers dedicate their time to conduct the crucial Point-in-Time Count, capturing a snapshot of homelessness in our communities. This effort guides services and funding, ensuring those in need receive help. Huge thanks to every volunteer for their invaluable contribution. Your work does not go unnoticed and is essential for making a difference. Luckily I've been supported by jurisdictions like City of Montebello, City of Garden Grove and 4LEAF, Inc. to assist in this yearly count! Being boots on the ground is important because if you as a person have to deal with this issue you are able to understand why some folks become homeless and struggle to escape or why some choose to live on the streets. Every story is unique. As we assist jurisdictions we realize that there are solutions to help folks get off the street or guide them to other places like navigating centers, shelters, housing vouchers, Section 8, etc. Kudos to County/Local Departments of Human or Social Services, nearby church organizations, social service non-profits, libraries, food pantries, and many others that hold the fort down year round to assist.

18th July, Mandela Day, people should be encouraged to dedicate 67 minutes to community service, honoring Nelson Mandela's 67 years of public service. Some specific ways individuals can give back to their communities: 1. Help at Local Shelters: Spend time assisting at homeless shelters or food banks. This could involve preparing and serving meals, organizing donations, or simply providing company to those in need. 2. Community Clean-Up Drives: Organize or join efforts to clean parks, streets, lakes or beaches. This helps create a cleaner, safer environment and fosters community spirit. 3.Educational Support: Volunteer at local schools or libraries. Offer tutoring services, read to children, or help organize educational events. 4. Visit the Elderly: Spend time with elderly people in nursing homes or in your neighborhood or Old age homes.Engage in conversations, help with chores, or organize a small event to brighten their day. Giving back to your community is indeed important. It fosters a sense of connection, helps to improve the quality of life for others, and can provide personal fulfillment. Contributing time, resources, or expertise can strengthen community bonds, support local initiatives, and create a more supportive and resilient environment. Whether through volunteering, supporting local businesses, or participating in community events, every effort can make a significant impact towards Equality. #DEI#Equality#CommunityService# volunteering #Community bond#Connections#improvedquality of life#personalgoals#fulfillment#gratitude #givingback#peace #buildequalsociety#beautifulsafespaces

The people that our local community kitchens support are not just "homeless people". Community kitchens and food banks are the back bones of our community that support all those in need of support. Many of our nations veterans and elders, children and hardworking single parents use the kitchen to fill the gaps. Not only fill the gaps, but for some the weekly food boxes and nightly meals are all they have to survive. With rising costs of living with everything from the gas we use to go to work, to the boots we pull ourselves up with food kitchens are in demand. The demand is something that is hard to keep up with on fixed budgets and limited donations. In the coming weeks that demand will increase as youth will be home more as school lets out. The meals once provided in the school system now fall on the already stretched budgets of the average American household. Lets do what we can to empower and have compassion to gain awareness about who uses the food kitchens and what we can do to help. Even if it's just slinging a few boxes of tomatoes to help out during a deliver. It is a step. #giveback #volunteer #communitywork #foodpantry #careergrowth #personalgrowth #investment #leadership #communityleadership #leadershipdevelopment
