Applying for a Canadian Visa on Your Own: A Step-by-Step Guide It is very important to know the correct information and instructions if you want to apply for a Canadian visa yourself without relying on a broker. Here is a simple and complete guide that will help you complete the application process correctly. 1. Initial Preparation ✅ Go to the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) website: IRCC official site https://lnkd.in/gWfa2qc7 ✅ Create a GCKey account and save your login information. 2. Start the application ✅ Log in to your GCKey account and select "Apply to come to Canada". ✅ Select "Visitor Visa, Study and Work Permit" and answer the required questions. 3. Document Upload Required documents to be uploaded: ✅ Completed Application Form (IMM5257) ✅ Passport Copy ✅ Bank Statement & Solvency ✅ Travel Plan, Hotel Booking or Invitation Letter ✅ Recent Passport Size Photograph ✅ Family Information (IMM5245 Form) ✅ Employment Information or NOC 4. Payment ✅ Visa Fee: 100 CAD ✅ Biometric Fee: 85 CAD ✅ Pay a total of 185 CAD online via credit/debit card. 5. Biometrics & Application Process ✅ After payment, take an appointment with VFS Global. ✅ Complete biometrics. 6. Result & Passport Submission ✅ Check updates in GCKey account. ✅ After visa approval, submit passport to VFS and collect passport along with visa. 7. Re-apply (if necessary) ✅ If rejected, apply again after understanding the reason. ✅ No need to re-submit biometrics (valid for 10 years). 🚨 Update on 482 Visa Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Criteria 🚨  Starting 2 August 2024, the policy for the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement when applying for the Subclass 482 visa's Short Term Stream s has been simplified. Now, the default position is that GTE is considered met unless there are specific concerns.  🔍 Key Changes:  ☑The factors that may weigh against meeting GTE have been significantly reduced.  ☑Having multiple temporary visas or long stays in Australia is NO LONGER considered a factor against GTE.  ☑However, it’s important to note that the Department still has discretion, and certain factors may raise concerns about meeting GTE requirements.
