As the last of the Pride parades fade into memory and the rainbow flags are tenderly folded away, a vital question lingers in the air, touching hearts and minds with a gentle yet urgent call. What will you do in the months after Pride to make the world a brighter, more inclusive place for everyone? This thought struck me as I walked through the vibrant celebrations across Boston, my heart full of gratitude for the freedoms we cherish and the progress we've made. Yet, as June gives way to July, the spirit of Pride beckons us not to pack it away but to carry it forward, transforming our collective joy into action. How can we extend this momentum beyond the confines of a single month and make every day a testament to love, acceptance, and unity? Imagine a world where each month after Pride is dedicated to furthering the cause of equality and compassion—'Nourish Month' to feed our souls and the souls of others, 'Protect Month' to defend the rights and dignity of all, 'Nurture Month' to foster growth and well-being within our communities, and 'Care Month' to demonstrate empathy and support across divides. What role will you play in bringing these ideals to life? How will you contribute to building a safer, kinder, and more nurturing world for the generations to come? The legacy of Pride is not confined to June; it's a living, breathing movement that thrives on our daily actions and commitments. It challenges us to ask not only how we can celebrate our pride but how we can live it out in ways that uplift and protect those around us. What will you do in the coming months to answer this call? Your actions, no matter how small, have the power to weave a tapestry of change that envelops the world in warmth, understanding, and inclusivity. #ActionAfterPride #LiveOutLoud #MakeADifferenceEveryDay #mirandism #unapologetic #unapologeticdude

Happy Juneteenth! Today, we honor Juneteenth, a significant day in American history. On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of slavery, enforcing the Emancipation Proclamation issued two years earlier. This day symbolizes freedom and the ongoing journey towards equality. Juneteenth is not just a historical milestone but a celebration of African American culture, resilience, and contributions to society. It’s a time to reflect on our progress and the work that still needs to be done to achieve true equality. Juneteenth should be more widely celebrated because it reminds us of our collective history and the importance of freedom and justice for all. It’s a day to educate ourselves, engage in meaningful conversations, and take actionable steps towards creating an inclusive future. I encourage everyone to talk to their leadership about recognizing and celebrating Juneteenth in the workplace. Together, we can foster a culture of awareness, respect, and unity. I, like so many others, wasn’t aware of the significance of Juneteenth until just five years ago. Growing up in rural Ohio, I was taught a sugar-coated version of history and missed out on the full truth. Juneteenth was never even mentioned. It was as if I only learned the 'abridged' version of history that left out critical chapters. Seeing the impact of misinformation firsthand opened my eyes. Not knowing this important piece of history could have led me to unintentionally hurt those I love. Since then, I’m grateful for the awareness I've gained. Knowledge truly is power. Understanding the diverse experiences and histories of others not only makes us more informed individuals but also better colleagues and professionals. Our growth depends on continuous learning and awareness. How can we know where we’re going if we don’t know where we’ve been? Acknowledging and understanding our history is crucial for moving forward together. I encourage you to discover more this Juneteenth - to seek out the unabridged versions of history to reflect and grow from it. It's essential for all of us to pledge to each other that we will keep learning and honoring significant moments from our past. . . . . #Juneteenth #WorkplaceEquality #InclusiveWorkplace #CorporateEquality
