Whilst the damage of Storm Éowyn continues to unfold, NFRC is urging home and business owners to be extra vigilant with tradespeople offering repairs. 🚨 Cowboy traders and rogue roofers take advantage of vulnerable people in these circumstances, promising work and demanding large payments but failing to complete the job to standard. If you or anyone you know is in need of repairs, please remember: ❌ Do not pay upfront before the work has started. Pay only upon completion, and request a receipt. ❌ Get an itemized quote in writing–this helps to protect you if you need to make a complaint. ❌ Make sure the work comes with a warranty and insurance. When I dropped into our local merchants this morning to pick up some additional supplies for our guys the yard was full of so called roofing contractors that were excited about going around looking for vulnerable people in need 😳🙄🤦🏻♂️
Very true also very sad .

2moI can remember in the mid 80s when the pits was shutting and loads of ex- miners buying white vans, a set of ladders and saying they was roofers!!….. We need proper legislation and with the NFRC Competent Person Scheme and FMB FMB we are slowly getting there but still a long long way to go and unfortunately too many gullible people fall for these chancers?… Sad but true.🤔👍
