This is Brett Adcock, the CEO of Figure, talking about the core of the debate: 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞-𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞-𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭 or 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥-𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞-𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭? I follow his reasoning, but at the end, when countered with 'This is how the world works today.' - he avoids the questions and ends with 'I don't think we should reason by that analogy'. He's the 🛴 Electric Kick-scooter CEO saying that bikes are a wrong analogy, when being told that 95% of 'wheeled' pedestrians use a bike. But it's not an analogy. Not at all ⛔. Instead, it's the robotics market showing what is efficient use of money. He puts forward the right billion dollar question: How are we going to automate every human task with Single-Purpose-Robots ? It is indeed impossible. So must it be a humanoid form to achieve this? How does the General-Purpose-Robot look like? Figure is on its way to figure out, let's hope it didn't settle on one solution too early.

Biped Robot P1 Chinese robotics technology firm LimX Dynamics' Biped Robot P1's latest demonstration test shows the machine's ability to respond remarkably well when threatened by a human.
