𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺: 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘃𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 The global space sector was worth $469B in 2021, 2.5x from 2005. The projections are 11% annually by 2030. 77% of the space market is commercial today. And it has made huge advancements since 2000. Globally, $40B and in Europe, $2.5B was invested in the space tech upstream sector in 2021. Space upstream was one of the best-performing sectors. Yet, it is only 6% of the total VC Deep Tech funding. In comparison to the world… EU has one-fifth of the funding since 2018—the highest share after the US. Germany attracted the most funding in 2023, followed by the UK and Italy. Italy, in fact, has been the fastest-growing country. European VC space tech funding by segment: > Space transportation $430M > Satellites $236M > In-space operations $117M > Space vehicle components $83M > Space exploration $63M Two of our portfolio companies in the space tech are: ATMOS Space Cargo— aims to provide a return service from space to earth with a payload capacity of 100kgs and more.
