Today is an exciting new chapter at Workstream as we launch our all-in-one payroll platform, together with our new Time Clock and Shift Scheduling products built first for hourly businesses. 🗞 Very exciting news!!!    Our Goodwill has entered into an operating partnership with Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay (SF Bay Goodwill)!     We will work together as one team, with yours truly at the helm, to bring best-practices in mission advancement and thrift retail expertise to each region. We know that by bringing together the shared knowledge, skills, and expertise of each organization we will grow the largest, strongest Goodwill organization in the country.   Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay operates across six counties in Northern California with more than 30 stores and donation centers, and provides community impacting mission services via local employment programs and resources.    Check out this great article from InBusinessPHX Magazine! 🌟

🇺🇸 When a Veteran honors you with their story of service and of sacrifice … listen to them.   Will Fischbach, our Board Chair and my best friend, shared his story with me many years ago and it paved the path forward to this morning when we reopened Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona's 1st Veteran & Military Family Career Center in Phoenix – and dedicated it proudly to him 🌟.   Will served our great Nation as a prosecutor in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He finished tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and the Republic of Korea. He was honorably discharged in 2008 at the rank of Major and is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal🎖.   Our veteran services are provided by vets for vets and their families. Our staff understand the unique experiences and hurdles individuals may face returning to the civilian workforce after their military career comes to close. It is OUR honor to serve you.

Today we celebrated the opening of the world’s first Circular Plastics Microfactory, located at our Goodwill Retail Operations Center! Together with Arizona State University, the City of Phoenix and Hustle PHX, we’re revolutionizing recycling by turning old plastics into new treasures like skateboard decks, outdoor furniture, and so much more. The team that plays together, stays together! 🤗   In 2024 we will be growing our business, increasing our impact in the community, and facing new challenges. But we will be doing it together as a team. I have always believed that team building, breaking bread together, and having lots of chances to play, laugh, and connect are the true building blocks of a strong team.   In the last few years, I’ve lost sight of this a little. I’ve let the shortage of time or the complications of our work shortchange the time and investment I know we really need to maintain a cohesive team. Team building isn’t ‘one and done’. It is a daily priority we must commit to as leaders.   This week our Goodwill Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors gathered. We learned a lot – about each other and about how much we all cherish the time to laugh and play.   In this case, we dressed up as shipwrecked pirates and with a scavenger hunt, some pirate trivia, and a wicked-fast game of charades we competed with each other for the coveted Black Pearl Pirate Ship trophy.
