Moving to the second segment, a pivotal reason for retail business failures is the lack of differentiation. Failing to carve out a distinctive identity or offer unique products and experiences often leaves businesses blending into the crowd. This absence of a standout value proposition makes it arduous to captivate and retain customers in a competitive market landscape. #retail #business #customerinsights #marketing #watchnow

A famous selling rule set out half a century ago by David Sandler, the founder of our company, goes like this: Don't spill your candy in the lobby. 🍬🍭 This rule was created because many salespeople overwhelm prospective buyers with sage advice, enthusiasm, and detailed recommendations far too early in the relationship. It's a good observation, and the principle that Sandler built his rule around – save your formal recommendations, your personal commitment, and your deepest insights for the truly qualified buyers – remains sound. But our experience on the front lines in multiple industries suggests that this advice needs to be adjusted just a bit in our omnichannel, AI-empowered era for the economic and logistical realities of selling in a down economy. Read on to find out how much candy you should spill in the lobby when the economy is down: https://hubs.ly/Q02dV_P80 #SandlerRules #Economy #Selling #SandlerBlog #Sales #Sandler #PerformancePartners #Charleston #SouthCarolina #SC

If you are a consumer tech DTC brand looking to scale, foment revolution and defeat the Armies of Darkness, you need to get into retail, and then stay there. Getting into retail requires PR. Why? 1) Retailers want to see you are spending on PR and marketing. They are not going to do it for you. Absent real spends, they will see you as a lowly milksop, unworthy of their time and shelf space. Revolution = over! 2) Retail is all about the unassisted sale these days. The customer needs to walk into the store with a view of you and your brand in mind. Earned media is a great way for your consumer tech brand to burrow into the heads of customers because it is trusted. 3) Your competitors for retail access and shelf space are spending on PR. Probably a bunch. Probably for years. You want to fight the war, you best get the proper weaponry. We can help you win the retail war. Get in touch. BTW our friends at Retailbound made this video featuring matinee idol, and all-round-great-dude, Robert Bruza. Check it out. It is informative as fuck. https://lnkd.in/eSm6bAmD

But thoughtful businesses can satisfy multiple customer sets in a way that makes business sense by tailoring products and prices to individual customer sets. #pricingstrategy #segmentation #smartbusiness
